maybe his glee was a bit child-like when he learned archibald was docked once again–likely for the entire season. maybe he should have contained himself when he spotted the other out-and-about while he was on his way to pay the earl a visit. maybe he should better remember their stations and proper behavior and all of that . . . but it had been so long since he’d seen the other, and things had been rough as of late, so a friendly face was, well, everything.
“howard!” he called from across the thoroughfare, jogging towards archie. “officer howard, i should say,” ambrose teased, gathering his friend into a hug.
