She gave him even more of a squeeze of an embrace. "Thank you! I think hugs are pretty wonderful. When I saw you, I was just...filled with the need to attack you with a big hug."
“Eh...? I would... ...love for Eve to... ...attack me...”
Curling up closer to the girl, the vampire closed his eyes, relishing in the warmth and comfort she always provided him. Despite how nice the moment felt, he couldn’t help but wish she would follow through with her words and strike him. How exciting, he thought, finally she was going to give him what he wanted all along.

⌞ With all the gazes being burnt into the back of his head, it was safe to assume that the vampire had already realized how long he was taking to order something, anything, at the food stall. And he had. He knew everyone was staring at him, furious at his silence, mentally urging him to order and get out of the line. Obviously, that didn’t help his indecisiveness, leaving his brain in an even bigger knot than before.
⌞ He wanted to speak, to let others know that this wasn’t his fault, that his brain didn’t always function correctly, but he couldn’t, not by himself at least.
⌞ That’s when he felt someone walking over, their scent growing stronger and stronger, until their warmth could be felt next to him. They seemed keen on helping, so he took the opportunity, and ended up pointing at the children’s menu.
⌞ “Maybe... that...”

"Azusa, want to spend the day together?" He was so cute. She just wanted to pinch his cheeks. "The weather is nice maybe we can have a picnic?"
“Yes... That would be... nice...”
A picnic sounded nice to him. Spending time in the shade, doing something that didn’t require much thinking. It was a good plan for the day. Maybe he could even sneak in some of his hot sauce to make their food taste even better. However, speaking of food...
“But I... don’t have... any food... to bring...”

“Azusa!” Amaranthe smiles brightly, waving at him as she excitedly made her way to him. “I won tickets to the new movie that just came out! Go with me? I’ll buy you popcorn.” Big brown eyes looked at him with apparent hope. Her fingers gentle as they took hold of his sleeve.
“Sure... What is it...about?”
In all honesty, the former human didn’t enjoy watching movies at the cinema all that much. The sound was always too loud, and the story moved too quickly for him to catch on. That’s why he always avoided going, even when his brothers invited him.
He thought, for a split second of backing down from the offer, but he was afraid doing so would make him lose his friend. He didn’t want that. He would do anything for his friend to keep on wanting him around, needing him around. Anything.
“Do they have... spicy popcorn?”

Amaranthe brought Azusa’s hands to her lips, breathing warm air into them and holding them between her own two hands. Her head bowed as she worked on warming up her friend. Caramel colored waves falling over shoulder , the strands dangling lightly across his knees. “Is this any better?” Kind eyes look up at him, hoping she was helping at all. She sat beside him and continued to try to warm her cold friend.
His friend’s smaller, warmer hands felt nice against his, the former human couldn’t deny that, but he almost didn’t want them there. He knew his hands were cold, and they would never be warm again, so she truly was wasting her time by trying to give some heat to his freezing body.
"Yes... they are... warm...”
They weren’t, and they never would be. Even when he did drink blood from his prey, the heat was only temporary as it ran through his veins, and it would always leave him feeling empty and cold once again.

Amaranthe looked at Azusa. "Does it bother you that I look for you at school?"
Why would something like that bother him? He couldn’t understand. Maybe he was too slow to get it, but he truly enjoyed being with her, he liked that she cared enough to look for him, and she never got mad at him for taking longer than usual to understand and respond to things. There was no reason, in his head, for anyone not to want her around.
“No... I... like you... you’re nice...”

“You’re amazing—you know that?”- amaranthe- Azusa
Azusa tilted his head in response to the girl’s words of praise, having clearly been taken by surprise by how nice she was acting towards him, how nice she had always acted towards him. He always thought she didn’t like him. After all, she refused to hurt him under any circumstances. In his head, that, of course, meant that she didn’t want to give him a reason for continuing his existence. Because being hurt meant love, right? Because being kicked and punched was better than being ignored, right? Right?
“Ah... why is... that?”
But she was still paying attention to him, she still wanted him around. In a way, that meant she didn’t hate him... but she did... or didn’t she? He was beyond confused, his already slow thinking process having shut down completely as he just stared ahead of himself, awaiting an answer that never seemed to come.
