Do you guys ever think about the tragedy that Cove Slidell is apart of or are you normal

Like imagine you kill your abuser and imprisoner of literal YEARS and you manage to absorb their essence in the process and now hear their voice in your mind constantly nitpicking everything you do. But the worst part is that your boyfriend from years back who you actually came to rescue fell in love with your abusers twin and now hates you for killing your abuser

Sometimes I think about how Cove continually fucks his way out of situations like, canonically

There's something to be said about that and how Daybreak more or less conditioned him to think the only thing he was worth was his body / the manipulation pleasure can have over people but yknow

I think Cove very much sees his body as a tool that can be used to gain advantage when he needs it. He has a certain loss of autonomy that's very interesting to me, and while he feels he's regained that autonomy the fact that he continues to just use his body in the same way Daybreak conditioned him to proves just how little of that autonomy he really has back / how deep Daybreak's manipulation really went

Thinks about. Cove. Thinks about him. Admitting to something he's afraid of... And that in and of itself showing an immense vulnerability and trust he has in the person he's admitting it to.

And bonus points if it's something just. Silly and mundane. Something that doesn't even matter in the grand scheme of things. The point is that he opened up about it at all.....

!! hellooo i know we haven’t written together yet but i was rereading cove’s profile and i’m so fascinated by “You return to your home in South Carolina. There your father and brother meet with an unfortunate accident. And then you move on.” i am so sorry if you’ve answered this before and absolutely no pressure to answer if it’s a spoiler, but like!! what happened??? to cove’s father and brother????

Cove Slidell does not like to kill people. He does all he can to avoid it, in fact, preferring peaceful solutions above all else. When he went to his childhood home in South Carolina, it wasn't with the plan to kill. But honestly? If you'd asked Cove in that moment what his plan was... I don't think he'd have been able to tell you. He went back to his home to confront his bother and father, and I think deep down he knew that the confrontation was unlikely to be peaceful but...

He still held out hope he could reason with them. He held out hope until his father raised his hand to him and Cove just... Snapped. It was almost as if he could hear Daybreak speaking inside his mind, encouraging him. Soothing him, too, in some twisted way. Promising him that this was the right thing to do.

Parker and Davey Slidell's official causes of death were ruled as radiation poisoning and burns... Though how they got into contact with such substances remains a mystery to the officials who investigated the case and to the state of South Carolina at large.

To put it simply, the accident they met with was Cove Slidell. >:)
