dear ex-boyfriend , 

i really wonder how you're doing sometimes. back when we were together, you were captain of the football team and you seemed to be livin' it all the way up. but y'know, that was high school. and i know you had some challenges then, and i just wonder if you're doing well?

i'll bet you didn't expect me to reach out to you. after i told you i was leaving for China--damn, i'll never forget that look you gave me. you look so hurt, so betrayed. you said some pretty bad things, and i didn't respond like a saint, but i feel like you were just mad. i don't think you meant any ill-will or anything. it's understandable, even if i didn't get it then. 

i'm a lot better now then i was then. yeah, we were together for like two years, but i feel like i have more in the relationship i have now then whatever it was we had. we were teenagers, young and stupid and horny, but i want you to know that i hope you're doing well. 

this is a really lame letter, i know, but i wrote it at night after a concert. what can you expect?

the main point is; i'm living my dreams, and i made the right decision. i'm not living in high school memories anymore. i've moved on, and i really hope you've done the same.
