for this fandom? i’d say rezhong. but that’s pretty subjective because it’s really, really popular with the jp and cn communities but western fandom sleeps on them sadly, so it’s technically a rarepair! on that note i’m also a fan of the even rarer ot3 that is guirezhong! bc western fans for some reason don’t think they existed around the same time despite what lore says 🙄

idk if these are rarepairs or just not popular but i do enjoy venbara, beikazu, and recently zennahi (alhaitham/nahida (not small form)).

8 & 9) did you have a muse you tried to play, but didn’t feel connected to? // did you have muse you tried to play, but ended up dropping for various reasons? (the rpc wasn’t active, you lost interest, etc)

I haven't had a muse I haven't been connected to; at least none that I can recall. But I did try to write Edelgard von Hresvelg, the antagonist of Fire Emblem: Three Houses. I really loved how complex she was and by playing through more of the routes and Supports, you learn how tragic of a character she really was. I had plenty of metas and headcanons about her and was really excited to explore relationships with other characters for more in depth development. Though due to the nature of fandom and morally grey female villains--there was an undue amount of hate surrounding her character that even pervaded into the RPC. If someone didn't portray her as the ruthless, murderous dictator they interpreted her to be, they were woobifying her. It was to the point where people had it in their rules how people should play Edelgard or they wouldn't interact/follow. The interactions I did get had some passive godmodding that would assume my muse did/felt this and that without consulting me. While I understand the delicate balance of playing villains, the amount of hate towards this character was astounding imo. From calling her a Nazi or comparing her to Hitler, to calling her a 'white supremacist's wet dream'.... At some point it became too much so I just dropped her blog. I still swear to this day if she was a male Lord character, fandom would be all over her because they love morally grey anti-hero boys.

1. What is the biggest headcanon deviation from the canon material that you have incorporated into the way you write your muse? Why did you come up with it?

Aside from my verse in which they’re walking around in modern day Teyvat, I don’t think I’ve really deviated from any canon. I do my best to stick as close as I can with all the lore we’re given. 

Obviously, the verse is for interactions with other characters who didn’t exist during ancient times, hahah. 

5. What is an aspect of your muse’s canon material or canon existence that you never had the opportunity to explore but really want to?

Hmmm, I guess another bit would be while they’re going through the extra rough patches of Erosion. I mean it falls during ‘ancient times’ but you know...

6. What is the general opinion of your muse’s fandom about them?

Ahahaha.....the opinion of the fandom in general? Aside from the few who actually like or remember his character, most of them see Azhdaha/Retuo as Zhongli/Morax’s ‘pet rock’ ‘pet frog’ or ‘rabid dog’...which I immensely dislike tbh. 

The way people dumb them down to just ‘lol angry ugly rock toad’ is so annoying LMAO. Both him and Dvalin tbh. It isn’t done to Yae as much because she’s a playable character with a human form, but her too ( I know this shit really gets the eimiko shippers’ goats too ). 

It’s just really disrespectful to the character and their relationship with their respective Archons ( also their friend ). Tbh I go out of my way to avoid blogs that make that joke a lot because it really just shows how they view my character and I don’t want that negativity :) 

"Something something it’s just a joke thooo" Jokes get real old when that’s the only one they make of a character I like :)) 

This is the same shit as ffxv fandom dumbing Ignis’ character to ‘mom’ and ‘wife’ because lol gender roles and honestly I’m over it

13. What canon character do you really wish your muse could interact more with?

Tons, actually! I’d love to get more interactions with other Liyue immortals! The adepti, dead gods, Guoba/Marchosius! There’s so much untapped potential in there! 

Also other Archons’ companions? Yae? Dvalin? Yes pls. If the OG Archon group used to meet up, I’d imagine their companions would also accompany them? Imagine the shenanigans! 

I think interactions between Azhdaha and the Liyue Qixing would be interesting too. Ningguang? Keqing? Ganyu esp! That’d be really rad tbh

14) What is your favorite cutscene?

Definitely the Osial fight when our one true Geo Queen had her moment to summon the Guizhong Ballista weapons. Ningguang deserves to be a 5*

Do unreleased characters count? If so, Yae and Ayato. The fact that their banners are going to be right after this pains me because I want C1 Zhongli.

Modern day bode is neutral about Valentine's Day. They probably receive a lot of chocolates from their students tho because professor bode is popular. They end up sharing the chocolates with friends lol

Idol AU Retuo ends up having to write songs especially for that day because it's what the public demands. They're pretty jaded here as a performer lmfao

💘 What are the ways my muse says ‘I love you’ without actually saying it?

Gift giving or acts of service. They enjoy buying or picking things up that reminds them of the other person. He's a devoted dragon and would love to fulfil any wishes their partner desires.

Or also mustering enough self control to take hold of their crumbling psyche in order to allow the person they cared about to seal them away into a deep, dark prison of their mind where they will be left alone with nothing but their fractured sanity for countless millennia. You know, just the little things.

😉 What are my muse’s fetishes/kinks?

Hmmmmmm.....probably a control kink. Something like edging and marking to fulfil that internal dominance/possessive desire. In cases where they get into it, teasing their partner would be something they'd enjoy. The knowledge that they're the ones who's making the other person feel this way, and that they're the only one that can do this is a nice feeling.

In cases where and when they feel really, really comfortable and safe around their partner they will allow himself to be controlled/dominated by them.

Like active ships? Not really. I've discussed things with @yvnmeng but most things just stay as discussions in IMs until further development is had between them.

Or were you asking what ships I like? If that's the case my otp is rezhong for sure as I love all manner of pining and tragic. That one fanart did open my eyes to guobazhdaha. I'm pretty partial to pre-Archon War immortals' relationships in general, but otherwise I'm fairly open in terms of possibilities?

Present day as Azhdaha might be a bit more difficult all things considered.

But as with all things, so long as there's chemistry first and foremost. 

As for shipping with others, I’d like to have some interaction going between our muses so I could have an idea of where they’ll be going even if it’s platonically. Ideally, I’d also be on talking basis with the mun of course.

Curious on the relationship between Azhdaha and Morax did you like? What was something you wish you could of seen more of?

I've always been a sucker for friends to enemies to friends/lovers trope. Retuo/Azhdaha is a tragic character (as most Genshin characters are) who went through horrific events and is a traumatic experience for Morax/Zhongli who had to harden his heart to seal him away. Thus, making him one of the many friends who the Lord of Geo lost in his long life.

What I liked most about their relationship is how steadfast they are to one another. That even after everything that happened, you can still see how much they care about one another and see each other as equals. It's an undying loyalty and camaraderie that is seen in many wuxia novels and more epic tales like Sam and Frodo in LotR.

But I'm also biased as heck.

Zhongli's story quest kind of gave us some insight to build a foundation on. There are also bits and pieces of lore scattered in Weapons that tell us that Retuo did love Liyue and cared for those who resided in it a great deal. The Stone Tablets littered across Liyue also hints that Morax trusted him enough that he allowed him such a large territory and the title of 'King of Dragons/Vishaps' alongside the existence of 'Rex Lapis'.

There's also the osthamus wine line of Zhongli's (but that one is more up to interpretation). 

But, I would have loved to see more about their past together. What hijinks did they get into? Rock trivia battle? Blacksmithing nerds? Anything, really. I'm here for the crumbs.

For non-ffxv I kind of want to try Aerith from OG vii but my fuzzy memory of the series has me uncertain whether or not I’d do her any justice. Plus, the large amount of people in that community is also a teensy bit intimidating, hahah. 

On the ffxv side, Leviathan really sounds like it could lead to very interesting/fun interactions. But our community is kind of dead and thus, she would be very, very limited in those who she could really interact with.
