“Grail War, huh? I’m gonna fight everyone.”
“Oh god Saber please don’t---”
"Fine," He broke off her words right as she ended, not even taking the time to think about what he needed to say so that his next words were genuine, "You be the child, I'll be the Master." He spoke without pause, taking a seat at his desk as he found formidable to most though not at this point, he had hoped to have a bit more of a formal engagement about the matter at hand, especially when it concerned the Doctor, however, he has realized that would not be possible with a girl such as this. "You've got one immutable mind my dear, one you shouldn't take for granted for it may drive another to the end of their patience." He advised on a side note, though he was rather fond of this attribute of hers, "Such spirit." He shook his head lightly, now staring idly at the corner of his desk as he spoke, "Though I must counter— Yes, indeed, I have tried many a time before, back when we were young and foolish. Those were the days," He spoke at an eased tone, reminiscing on his past for this short moment before moving on, "Now, it's better to take on a perspective viewpoint— you see, I once had your eager ambition to accomplish anything and everything I set my mind to and—show off." He shrugged gently bringing his gaze back to the girl in question, "Now," He repeated, "I've grown fond of elaborate schemes, adds a bit more flavor to the twist of things, yes, I left the Doctor at Utopia, should you know about that— I could have killed him right there, but it would have been too easy, no fun. And here I am." He opened the palm of his hands to the ceiling as he rested his elbows on his desk, "The fun is in the journey, not the accomplishment child, though you may not be able to see it now I intend to guide you and your ambition so that you may satisfy your needs and wants and we'll both have what we aim for, the Doctor's life. How's that for putting it into words?"
He let his head sink down till the tip of his chin laid over his chest as he looked past the floor in a callous gaze, he could almost hear himself in this child, her motives and cue for passion nearly matching his own, a factor he found incredible. Once he noted that she was back into an orderly position and had recovered from the minor shock of the shot he lifted his head to face her, his chin now slightly raised with an air of authority that he knew he had, complete confidence. "So young, yet you claim again and again to know him." He mused, sauntering through his office toward the window as if it were a stroll in the park, the easiest thing in the world, "You are a killjoy as these apes would say, kill the Doctor?" He frowned as if it were the most ridiculous notion in the entire cosmos, "No no no," he began as a teacher would, "You don't need to kill the Doctor, just his image and heart. He's became an icon in the universe, a beacon of hope, and you want to kill him? That would only dub him a martyr on their list. Died for the good of the universe—" By this point, the Master had reached his desk again, back from his little stroll to the window, "No, people have to know the truth," He emphasized his words by pressing his finger on the desk while looking at this girl, trying to read her all the while, evident by the look in his eyes, though got on with point, "Though I do appreciate someone such as yourself, capable of thinking in the least compared to the— others." He smiled pleasantly, wrinkles at the corner of his narrowed eyes, always calculating eyes. "Do I have to voice the thoughts correlating between us or shall I allow the silence to consume our mutual agreement?"
He sighed, enough with this smart talk, what a girl. He shot the hand holding the gun without as much as a second’s warning, the laser only producing a solid zoom. “Laser screwdriver, it is of my own invention, I highly doubt you’ve seen it before now. ” He had made sure the laser was on mild mode before shooting, in attempts to simply drop the gun as was a reflex to such a sting, “Now,” he mimicked her using her own word expression as he adjusted his blazer jacket, cleverly handling his screwdriver as he put it back in its place in his inner jacket pocket, “As you were. You may address me as Master if we proceed to converse, back to the topic on you,” he laughed shortly in an amused manner, “You continue to put words in my mouth, I never said or ‘accused’ you of being a Time Lord, no, I have yet to figure out what you are,” he sneered delighted with the turn of events, “I suppose you’re all about fun, aren’t you? With that attitude we won’t get anywhere, though, going on about the Doctor, I must question, how is it that you have seen him quite often and claim to know him more than I when it is I that practically grew up with him, that is what dawns me,” he rounded his desk, coming to the edge where the desk no longer stood between them, hands clasped behind his back, head up, “So yes, I claim to know all about how to get the Doctor, do you?”
He chuckled lightly at her words, finding amusement within her nature. He stayed in his chair even as she stood from hers, walking around his office in such a fashion to make herself acquainted with it. The name, she kept using the name of which held no meaning to him, it was growing pathetic even know since she knew who he was, “My name, is the Master.” He said briefly, taking this chance to stand from his chair approaching his own desk to face her, only to stop a couple yards away, “Now, where you’ve gone wrong. I have made no judgement on you, but you have peeked my curiosity.” He smiled plainly, ignoring the gun, “And yes, to confirm you words from before, I am sure of myself, why wouldn’t I be?” It was at these words he pulled out his laser screwdriver, it was heard by the sheathing sound it made when he activated it, “I’ve got a screwdriver, now, do you want to test which one is faster?” He taunted, “You’re curious, despite the urge to shoot, just as I am, but to test my patience is an entirely different matter.” His confidence was overwhelming, he knew his strengths in this situation, “You shoot me, I regenerate as you know, but not without taking one shot at you with this,” he waved his laser, “Without giving you a second chance to end me, and you, well, die.” He frowned, something wasn’t right, he knew that confidence that surged through her, of course she wouldn’t put forth her life in such a stupid manner without knowing something else, “Or— you regenerate.” He said simply, testing the idea, he could sense it briefly, just a bit though it was still a thought, why else would she mention that he knew nothing about her? He was willing to take this chance.
He lifted his head slowly in a knowingly motion, keeping his eyes on her, now sitting back comfortably in his chair, hands rested at the edge of the arms of the chair, "So you know about the Time Lords, how quaint," was his first response despite all she had said, as he shut his eyes in thought, "Words are merely words, you shouldn't always take them for what they are, you know I am no friend of the Doctor, though I have no intention of explaining our connection but enemy does nicely. You're also an adversary toward him, oh, this is splendid." He grinned, finally looking back at her, "You see, I've been waiting quite a while to meet him, soon he will arrive from beyond and I shall have him." He pressed on, "I don't need a meddling girl in my way." He brushed invisible dust off shoulder simply to carry on conversation, "As for people finding out my true identity, I have it all under control, as you may assume should you be wise enough to. There is of course, the Arch Angel Network, surly you've heard of that? You might even have it on your phone, everyone does." He let out a tired sigh to indicate his boredom, finding her of no use.
He grinned lightly as he narrowed his eyes, folding his hands together as he paused briefly to contemplate how to answer to this insolent yet brilliant girl, taking under consideration how she behaves, "He's a friend.." he began slowly, still forming his words and thoughts as he kept his sight on her, never taking his eyes off, "We schooled together," which wasn't entirely a lie, they did attend the Academy back at Gallifrey together, though how would this human know that. At that moment she could determine if he was a fraud or of a different nature, considering that he was able to school with the Doctor, the Time Lord, it is this sentence that will ascertain how much she knows of the Doctor herself. He sat up straight in his seat, leaning forward so that his elbows rested on his knees, hands remaining together. "Though, perhaps, it be wise to tell me now, how do you know of the Doctor, girl?" He bargained for answers, surly she would comply, after all, he held the dominating power.
