Exhaustion was seeping into her bones as the sun began to peak into the sky. Whatever joy and thrill she’d gotten from the beginning of their quest was long forgotten. There was nothing more than an endless haze of blood and shrieking, pocketing she and her companion in a bubble of endless slaughter. “I have no idea, but we are not being paid nearly enough!” She yelled back at his comments as she kicked one of the ugly abominations away from her before bringing her ax down on its skull.
Through the cloud of their battle though Gemina spotted someone standing several yards away, shielded in the trees of the forest and watching from their shadows. The moment their eyes met the figure fled, but not before she was able to make out just who it was. Her distraction was ended the sound of a shriek behind her caught her attention and she turned to see Geralt being overwhelmed, another of the creatures lunging towards him. Snarling, she chucked her ax towards it with enough force to send it flying backward away from them.
Gemina seemed to heed what he said as she turned heel to run the other way, but it wasn’t a decision that lasted very long as mere seconds after she’d vanished into the treeline something massive was flying up from the tops of the trees and shrieking its way down towards where Geralt was fighting the disgusting mark they’d been given. Long talons gripped onto the Witcher’s arms and dragged him into the air, the snowy bat audibly panting and struggling to hold his weight away from the creatures that were still swarming beneath them. Escaping into the treeline, she was losing stability with every foot they traveled, but only as Roach came into sight did the large bat drop Geralt to the ground-- an action which sent her hurtling into the trees and colliding with one with a loud thud and made her crumble into the ground in a mess of fur and weakly kicking legs.
