I am just going to assume right now that Dictionary.com’s Word of the Day for tomorrow is going to be Sedition. A preemptive post feels in order.

Sedition

Any action, speech, or writing which incites or promotes rebellion against a government by members of that government or citizenry

Crowley likely had the very real fear that Demon!Dean might, in an act of sedition, attempt to take the throne of Hell for himself. Not because Dean particularly wanted to be the King of Hell, wanted any of the responsibilities or even the power that went along with it. No, Dean would take it purely to show that he could. And then, when the fun was over, to add insult to injury, he would toss aside the crown and the power, and walk away - just because he could.

Coup D'É·tat (often shortened to coup)

A sudden and decisive action in politics, especially one resulting in a change of government illegally or by force.

What the Winchesters, working in junction with Billie, the Empty, and Jack intended was something of a coup d'é·tat where Chuck was concerned. Overthrow the creator of their universe, and put a new power in charge. And like a great many coups d'é·tat in the real world, there was a change of authority without it resulting in much of any real or positive change for everyone else.
