If Stratt and Grace ever got to meet again, or at least speak again
Grace would say “I understand”
Not “I forgive you”
Because he doesn’t
And Stratt would say “I miss you”
Not “I’m sorry”
Because she isn’t
#project hail mary#phm#ryland grace#eva stratt#strattland#at least kinda#they mean so much to me oh my gosh#grace doesn’t owe Stratt forgiveness bc what happened to him was awful#but he does understand why she did it now#now that he’s saved both earth and Erid and found a home he sees why she did it#that can’t stop him from looking at her differently#but it can help him find a little more peace#and Stratt knew what she was doing#she knew what she was signing up for and getting involved with#she knew she was going to have to make hard decisions during this mission#one of those hard decisions was putting grace on that ship#and she can’t regret it because it saved earth#she can’t regret it bc she could never place one man’s life (no matter how precious that life was to her) over the rest of the world#just because she’s not sorry for what she did doesn’t mean she can’t miss him#and she does#she misses being around him and talking with him and knowing he was ok#she misses him fiercely#but that doesn’t make her sorry for her decision
