“You know,” Reyna began, not bothering to look up from the paperback she’d been reading, “I hadn’t thought that this was your scene. Open park. Middle of the day. Kids running around. Bright sunlight.” She glanced up, marking her page, coy grin on her lips. “Aren’t you supposed to turn to dust if you’re exposed to that?” Reyna scanned him quickly for a knife or a gun, something to finish her off quick and fast. “I kid. But really, I’m impressed. Look at you stepping out of your comfort zone.”
