Another familiar flash of blue light, and Aster fell onto cold concrete. The shine of the open wormhole illuminated the space in a way that made it starkly clear when it was gone. They were alone. They’d been separated from Mark. They’d have to continue on their own, it seemed. They always found each other again eventually.
It was dark. Aster wondered if they had been stuck inside somewhere again — until they realized that it was merely nighttime.
Standing and regaining their balance, they tried to regain their bearings as well ( as though they had ever really had them ) . It looked like Earth — but they could never truly be sure. Had they been here before ? No, that was impossible.
The large ( almost imposing ) building nearby was the only landmark that they had to go off of.
With a sigh, Aster began their walk closer to it, hoping that whatever they found would not be as much trouble as they had already encountered.
That was probably too much to hope for, wasn’t it ?
An edifice of some sort — a museum ? Not what they had expected, but it was better than a lot of other options. There seemed to be no one outside . . . that was, from their point of view, at least. Though it might have been dangerous to approach it, they didn’t seem to have many other options, once again. Whatever will get me out of here sooner.
