REMUS  GROANS  .  eyes  flickering  open  ,  it  takes  him  for  a  moment  to  get  his  bearings  .  fingers  hitting  the  back  of  his  head  to  feel  a  trickle  of  blood  pool  onto  his  fingers  .  he  takes  a  minute  ,  looking  over  &&  finding  the  face  leaning  over  him  with  concern  .  it  takes  him  a  minute  to  RECOGNISE  where  he  is  &&  he  figures  ,  out  of  all  the  ways  he’s  ever  woken  up  ,  this  didn’t  crack  the  top  ten  for  worst  .  

he  lifts  himself  up  SLIGHTLY  ,  sitting  &&  wincing  as  he  does  so  ,  his  hand  reaching  out  to  grasp  their  forearm  as  they  then  pull  him  up  to  his  full  height  .  “  ‘m  GOOD  ,  ”  he  responds  with  absolute  ease    ,  though  his  voice  is  hoarse  &&  raw  ,  like  he  had  just  swallowed  sawdust  .  wiping  himself  down  ,  remus  is  acutely  aware  that  the  entire  room  is  spinning  &&  makes  to  grab  the  table  &&  steady  himself  .  “  MAYBE  a  little  dizzy  ,  ”  he  prompts  with  a  slight  smile  .  //  @forevermonsters

GREYBACK  KNOWS  MORE  THAN  HOW  TO  PRESS  AT  REMUS’  BUTTONS  .  indeed  it  seems  that  the  older  of  the  two  can  get  to  the  very  heart  of  the  matter  .  very  much  he  could  pin  point  with  abundant  accuracy  the  very  thing  that  remus  was  so  aware  of  .  so  aware  he  was  of  how  much  he  had  done  for  others  .  but  ,  what  fenrir  was  not  aware  of  was  how  much  others  had  done  for  remus  .  in  TRUTH  ,  this  would  not  work  ,  this  feeling  of  guilt  would  not  be  used  against  him  ,  for  remus  knew  that  he  was  not  burdened  by  others  ----  rather  ,  he  BURDENED  others  .  

though  there  is  a  part  of  him  ,  so  DEEP  down  that  knows  .  knows  how  others  use  him  &&  discard  him  .  use  his  body  &&  his  mind  for  their  own  benefit  .  their  own  needs  .  &&  he  hates  it  .  hates  it  more  than  he  can  truly  put  it  into  words  .  

they  will  never  ,  &&  never  have  CAREED  for  him  .  not  in  the  way  he  cared  for  them  .  he  knows  this  so  deeply  it  breaks  him  down  inside  && twists  at  him  like  a  knife  .

fenrir  knows  how  to  get  under  his  skin  .  

&&  he  hates  it  .  oh  he  hates  it  .

tired  eyes  graze  up  &&  over  ,  but  he  does  not  say  ANYTHING  ,  unsure  &&  slightly  aware  that  anything  he  did  say  could  be  taken  out  of  context  &&  used  AGAINST  him  .  which  he  was  in  no  mood  for  .  instead  ,  remus  let  his  fingers  curl  around  themselves  &&  the  tips  touch  the  palm  of  his  hands  .  he  considers  then  ,  leans  back  ,  letting  himself  exhale  .

REMUS  GIVES  A  LOW  SIGH  .

he  knows  this  .  he  knows  this  so  deeply  it’s  almost  INGRAINED  like  runes  across  his  bones  .  it  has  been  there  since  he  was  a  child  himself  .  he  knows  that  people  are  going  to  die  .  but  if  he’s  honest  ?  he  cannot  bear  the  thought  .  cannot  bear  the  emotion  .  cannot  bear  the  UNDERSTANDING  that  amongst  his  friends  &&  the  new  family  that  he  has  carefully  curated  for  himself   ,  will  too  now  disappear  .  like  smoke  upon  a  breeze  .  turned  to  ash  in  front  of  him  .

it  HORRIFIES  him  .

scares  him  .  

leaves  him  petrified  &&  wanting  to  hide  .  oh  ,  the  sorting  hat  sorted  him  into  the  wrong  house  .  everything  he  does  shows  how  much  of  a  COWARD  he  has  been  for  if  not  all  of  his  life  .  

his  fingers  curl  into  his  palm  before  he  then  gives  a  nod  .  “  doesn’t  mean  we  can’t  try  ,  ”  he  says  then  clears  his  throat  .   // @vanitaste

REMUS  PULLS  AWAY  FROM  HER  TOUCH  .  his  skin  marred  &&  deep  wounds  piercing  at  his  cheek  &&  neck  .  perhaps  worse  than  he  had  ever  looked  .  he  waits  for  a  moment  ,  lips  curling  before  then  giving  a  soft  sigh  .  he  wishes  he  did  not  look  like  this  .  fingers  curl  slightly  around  his  wand  before  he  then  places  it  upon  the  table  by  where  he  sits  .  remus  lets  his  eyes  drift  up  towards  her  .

REMUS  SOFTENS  HIS  EXPRESSION  GENTLY  BEFORE  THEN  GLANCING  DOWN  AT  HARRY  ,  fingers  twitching  around  his  cloak  ,  now  it  seemed  old  hat  .  for  him  to  leave  .  as  much  as  he  didn’t  want  to  -----  it  was  something  that  he  too  disliked  greatly  ,  after  all  ,  he  wanted  nothing  more  than  to  stay  with  harry  .   be  around  harry  &&  offer  a  safe  space  for  the  younger  of  them  .  he  was  MEANT  to  be  uncle  moony  after  all  .  but  even  he  felt  at  times  that  he  would  pull  away  .

HER  FINGERS  CURL  AROUND  HIS  JAW  PULLING  HIS  FACE  UP  TOWARDS  HER  ,  remus  doesn’t  speak  as  he  feels  her  nails  tenderly  poke  at  his  skin  though  there  is  no  malice  as  she  has  lifted  his  expression  to  greet  hers  .  he  pauses  ,  catching  her  eyes  ,  watching  with  simplicity  as  her  words  catch  at  the  corner  of  her  mouth  ,  a  lipsticked  smile  added  to  the  CONVERSATION  before  then  she  pushes  his  greying  hair  back  from  his  face  .

“  i  assure  you  it  works  perfectly  well  ,  ”  he  says  a  slight  quip  curling  at  the  curve  of  his  lips  before  then  he  adds  .  “  &&  i’m  sure  your  mouth  does  BETTER  ?  ”  //  @amortenta​

HE  HAS  HIS  FINGERS  CURLED  AGAINST  HIS  LIPS  .  thoughtful  &&  pensive  as  sirius  speaks  ,  &&  with  it  he  lifts  his  head  raises  slightly  before  turning  sharp  blue  hues  to  glance  at  his  friend  .  he  considers  for  a  moment  ,  sirius’  words  .  &&  from  it  ,  remus  PAUSES  .  thoughts  turning  slightly  before  then  lifting  his  head  slightly  .  as  he  considers  &&  thinks  &&  hums  &&  lowly  then  does  not  even  offer  an  opinion  .  he  cannot  .  for  he  knows  sirius  well  enough  to  know  that  the  other  WOULD  &&  COULD  take  what  he  says  in  offense  .  &&  he  wishes  nothing  of  an  argument  .  but  that  in  of  itself  might  cause  argument  .  

remus  then  lets  his  FINGERS  CURL  up  into  his  palm  before  then  speaking  with  all  the  sincerity  that  existed  within  him  .  “  perhaps  it’s  time  you  consider  what  is  best  for  you  ,  ”  he  then  kindly  says  .  “  &&  that  ,  if  you  think  is  MOVING  ON   ,  then  truly  pursue  it  ,  ”  //  @marawrder​

REMUS  KEEPS  HIS  BACK  TO  LUCIUS  .  fingers  over  the  bottle  cork  of  the  wine  before  pouring  some  out  for  the  other  .  he  was  not  sure  what  to  say  ,  it  seemed  that  any  means  of  comfort  was  lost  on  him  .  after  all  ,  should  he  really  offer  comfort  ?  there  was  so  much  bad  blood  that  he  is  unwilling  almost  to  speak  .  as  his  gaze  drifts  quietly  to  the  deep  CRIMSON  of  the  merlot  ,  remus  gives  a  low  sigh  ,  shoulders  dropping  &&  entire  body  aching  .  not  from  the  full  moon  ----  by  all  sorts  that  was  weeks  away  still  .  but  from  the  stress  of  the  conversation  .  it  was  as  if  lucius  had  taken  the  earth  &&  asked  remus  on  broken  legs  to  hold  it  up  .  perhaps  an  emotional  response  to  the  prompt  .

remus  turns  ,  OFFERING  one  glass  to  lucius  &&  moving  with  the  other  one  for  himself  .  though  he  takes  no  partition  in  drinking  .  “  i  can’t  ,  ”  he  says  simply  .  “  i  can’t  tell  you  what  the  SILVER  LINING is  because  ,  my  idea  of  a  silver  lining  would  be  marginally  different  to  yours  .  you  have  your  family  .  your  home  .  simple  matters  that  i  feel  PERHAPS  you  take  for-granted  .  ”  he  pauses  .  “  so  perhaps  before  you  ask  for  a  silver  lining  ---  ask  what’s  important  ,  ”  //  @unfrgivble​
