The news of Lillian’s new beau had spread through the news like wildfire. Verona was constantly seeking the rise and fall of its most prominent members, and Lillian Wen was one of those faces that appeared in the outlets frequently. She was a model, a survivor, and some might even call her a saint. Delilah saw her as more than that. She saw the girl that made her chest hurt from laughter. She saw the girl that kissed her lips so tenderly that she was afraid she’d melt. She saw the girl that she used to call ‘amore’. Their romance had been a whirlwind adventure, but the love they had for each other never truly faded away.
Perhaps that was why Delilah had asked her to catch up over coffee. A part of Delilah had wanted to meet up somewhere away from judgemental eyes, but she forced herself to leave the comfort of her own home. She couldn’t hide away forever. She had cried over the ruin of her marriage for months already. Delilah knew she had to face the world sometime, and perhaps now was the time to allow herself to forget about outside opinions. It also helped that Lillian had a way of making her forget about everyone else.
Her fingers thrummed against her coffee cup. She had purchased some coffee and a few croissants for them to share. Delilah had gotten to the location early to make sure they snagged a table near the corner--- both to avoid the glares sent her way as well as the media wishing to bother Lillian. Her eyes scanned the room before lighting up at the sight of her old flame. She patted the table in front of her before standing up to greet the woman.
“Lillian, you look as glowing as ever.” She pulled her into a hug before pulling away. “I got us some croissants to share.” She motioned towards the table before she slipped back into her seat. “How have you been?”
