ā: What is the worst emotional pain you've had to endure?
Every man has their breaking point. Danny had thought that it was going to calling up the man who wanted to buy his shop. That had been a pretty low point- but the actual deal went over smoother than one might expect. It was hanging up, with a heavy feeling like lead in his stomach, and realizing what heād have to do next, that finally did him in.
Heād have to call his family. Heād have to say that heād failed. That heād already sold the shop. That heād made enough cash on the sale to give them money for a few weeks, but after that, it was all up in the air. When he went home, heād have to look them all in the face. Theyād all be looking at him, wondering how to budget the next few months. Maybe theyād even give him a look of pity- and that he just couldnāt bear at all.
He didnāt deserve pity, least of all from them! Heād failed them! And why? Why had he failed them? He couldnāt even say that heād tried his hardest, could he? No, heād been lazy and cheap, and lost all his customers! If only heād tried a little harder! Been a little smarter! What was wrong with him!? This was supposed to be his dream job, wasnāt it?! Why had he sucked so hard at it?! Why was it always a struggle to get up in the morning and do his goddamn jobĀ when this was all he was supposed to have wanted?! Why did he lose it all by doing nothing?! Why?!
Danny crossed his arms, on the table, and buried his head onto them. He wasnāt really sure whether he let out a scream or a sob. He did know, however, that that was the very moment he realized that no matter what anyone ever said, he would never be good for anything.
