one year
((just so you know this is “berklake’s” one year anniversary. just to put into time understanding this is probably about a year and a half after berk’s elimination))
I wake up to the sound of my apartment door opening, I reach over for my phone to see if Blake texted me to let me know that he’s coming over, and nothing. I slip on a sweatshirt and quietly tip toe my way to my bedroom door. I hear a quiet rustling sound and a lot of shhh’s. I peek out the door to see who is there and see his dark hair. His back is facing me and he is moving something around on the floor. “Babe?” I whisper and he still gets startled, “what are you doing?”
He waves one arm while holding something I couldn’t see, “just go back to your room for a second.” I hesitate and he gives me a look, “it’s a surprise,” and I slowly walk back into my room. I’m thinking, “what is he doing? What is he hiding?” After about a minute or so he calls out, “BABE!” and I run out to see what it is. I see Blake standing there holding a tiny little tan and white bull terrier.
My mouth drops, “Blake, wh-wh-what?” I slowly walk towards him.
“He’s yours,” he holds him and looks down at him, “isn’t he cute?”
“Babe,” I start tearing up and reach out to hold my little baby. I wipe my tear and start laughing, “is this why you have been asking me about dogs so much?”
Blake chuckles, “yeah, he’s actually been at my place for like a week now.”
“WHAT?! You have been keeping him from me?!”
“Well yeah, I wanted to save him for today.” He shrugs. “I got him some toys, oh and he gets along sooo well with Banjo.”
I fall into him and whine, “you got me a dog.”
“Yes, I got you a dog,” he laughs while wrapping his arms around me and kisses the top of my head.
“Does he have a name?” he shakes his head, “ooh, what about Aspen?”
Blake gives me a smile, “I love it.”
((so if you didn’t put two and two together, or just didn’t remember. but when berk and blake went to tammins they went to aspen (and have gone many times since) but they love it there so that’s how aspen is named aspen))
