Living in Australia, I'm kinda always at the mercy of my posts lining up with crappy timezones, so when I came back to Tumblr and realised there was a fully in-built post scheduling system, I was very excited...only to happily realise that even with that in mind, Tumblr has a much more 'time-blind' and relaxing approach to posts. It lifts my spirits whenever I see that somebody's gone through my catalogue or liked a post that had been put out days or even weeks ago, and it appears that that's a far more prevalent phenomenon on this site compared to anywhere else. A guy could get used to this more easygoing posting experience, although of course that's all thanks to folks like you! Thank you all. BONUS:

and the first time he played music on erid, rocky was SO confused, because he thought humans didn’t know eridian?? and now grace is playing SOMETHING with both eridian AND human language and it sounds so chaotic and none of it makes any sense

and grace is confused for a moment, then he realizes, of COURSE, the instruments in the songs are playing chords, and some of those chords are words in eridian, and if he focuses on it, he can pick out the words

grace starts cracking up and rocky is still confused because grace hasn’t explained it yet but when he does rocky calls humans stupid

The thing about the Drama that I have a hard time coming to terms with is the reason why Emma didn't go and commit the shooting. Everyone goes with the most uncharitable interpretation of those events; as if she didn't do it because she would no longer be "the first" one to do it in her town.

The movie shows how the shooting impacted the students at Emma's school, and Emma had to sit and take in all the reactions of those around her. The pain it caused others, how shameful it is to do such a thing, the weight of real life taken. Her not going through with it read to me less as a disappointment, and more as a wake-up call.

Before the shooting happened, her view of such events was glamorized play pretend. She was trying to make a "cool" sounding manifesto putting on silly makeup and clothes. After it happened, she was face-to-face with the real consequences that would have on the people around her, and she chose not to go through with her plan.

Charlie's interpretation of this event was the MOST uncharitable possible interpretation of how things went down and idk why his viewpoint is the one taken in this scenario.

Every so often I think of how the LOTR movies managed to cast a guy as Aragorn who is simultaneously yes, very masculine, very action-hero-y, and also someone who as a woman I would one hundred percent feel safe being alone with in any situation. Not one cynical, alpha male, smirky, appeal-to-the-jerkbros-in-the-audience fibre in his body. Just thinking about Viggo Mortensen’s Aragorn makes me feel a little calmer. Absolutely outstanding.
