Apologies!

Sorry for lack of posts recently! But have been getting a lot of hell at work recently, and beyond that, have been working on rewards, comms, and holiday and meme posts!

Hope to have some stuff to post soon...like tonight and tomorrow! Would have had some done earlier, but got called in for overtime today.

As always, asks are open. Holiday stuff is starting up (will do reposts of some of them so you have them fresh!) and still taking asks on the new "Energy Drink" meme! Have fun!

Introducing Florus!

Born in Garlemald as the daughter of a government employee, the childhood that Florus remembers is by and large a happy one.

While doing a few years of military service (working primarily in logistics and the mess), Florus took the chance to experiment with presentation - it's not like the Garlean army is segmented, after all.

Inspired by several people in his life, Florus found pride based on a more masculine presentation, and so he chose his new name based on things he liked - Florus - and the reaction of his family - Amaga.

Finishing his service without issue, but as soon as he was no longer conscripted, he used some money from his family to start a private brewery.

A bit of an alcohol aficionado, he likes to brew various drinks and likes to buy and sell the things he doesn't brew.

Following the destruction of Garlemald, Florus survived by dint of hiding in his wine cellar, the bar above him destroyed, with a radio, until he was rescued by the Eorzean Alliance. Immediately setting out for Eorzea - reasoning that there was no place for a brewer and bartender in the rebuilding efforts of his home - he found his way to Ul'dah, where a displaced Dalmascan was setting up a bar to remind them of home. Agreeing to be hired as the bartender of the Desert Dregs, he now saves money from his job, to have a nest egg that he can use to one day either start his own bar or return to Garlemald, when the time is right.

I can't stop thinking how religion is a thing in the world of The Bad Guys and how this can affect some anthro animals

For example, there's the whole "Good Samaritan" trophy/gala that is a reference to Jesus' parabole of the good man from Samaria.

Or the fact that Mother Theresa, a devoted catholic nun, existed in the same universe. All of this makes me believe that the BG world is the same as ours but has some anthro animals.

Now, think of this: If the whole "Big Bad Wolf" persona that our Wolf projects on himself comes from classic fairytales books, then in what ancient book or books the snake is painted as an animal asociated with evil?

Yep, yeah that's exactly the case.

And no, Jungle Book's Kaa doesn't count since the character was heroic in the book but villainous in the movie cuz Walt Disney believed the viewers could NEVER accept a snake being good.

And where do you think the western people got those ideas considering Indians view snakes as sacred creatures?

Makes you wonder if Snake was deeply affected by religion growing up since many ignorants would say hurtful things like "Your kind doomed our world!", "Stay away you devil!"

I mean, if the three little pigs and the whole huff and puff bit were mentioned in the movie, then how many biblical references were throw at Mr. Snake offscreen?

No wonder the guy has self loathing issues. If a predominant religion says that no matter how decent or good guy you really are, how much you can help people, how much you can love somebody with all your heart, you are always going to be seen as something chaotic, something wrong, something evil, then of course why try to be good?

9/30/21 Update

Hey friends. I hope you’re all doing well and staying hydrated. (No you know what, go drink some water please, I’ll wait)

Okay. Hey! So I know no one really asked for an update but here it is anyway…in the form of an apology:

I’M SORRY.

I have been really inconsistent lately when it comes to posting. I know that doesn’t translate into the best reading experience for anyone who is trying to stick with one of my stories. I’m working on that, I promise.

I’ve also been behind on responding to comments and on reblogging and commenting on some of the things I’ve read recently. That’s a wrong I’m putting time aside this weekend to make right.

There are a few asks marinating in my inbox right now, too, and I’m sorry that they’ve been chillin for so long. This weekend is for those, too.

I also want to apologize if I’ve seemed uninterested or just haven’t been as talkative the last week or so- I had a lot on my plate (not all bad! Some good stuff just A LOT of stuff.) and wasn’t feeling the best and ended up sleeping a ton. I’m sorry if I vanished mid conversation or just didn’t seem present. 🖤

I’ll be focusing on Whiskey & Din (as well as the spooky collaboration with @something-tofightfor ) but if there’s anything else you’re hoping gets an update soon let me know and I’ll try to shuffle it towards the top. And if you’re still reading this… Thanks for sticking with me while I try to make it easier to do so 😅
