Ribbon doesn't want to dislike Dedede—she really, really wants to forgive him. But she struggles with the resentment that his and Ripple's divorce led to. For a brief period of time, she was almost, but not quite, his child, and then because Dedede didn't take care of his mental health, he wasn't able to maintain his relationship with Ripple, and he ended up hurting her pretty badly.

Ribbon comes back around in the future, especially with some encouragement from both parties! I like to think she reconnects with Dedede when Ripple reconnects with him :) @skeletondanc3r

Blue Valentine (2010) will always shatter me beyond comprehension and for some reason I watched it today as first thing in morning (I like to live on the edge I guess) and honestly, I don’t feel THAT bad about being single. At least I broke it off without us growing to resent each other. At least there is only good to remember. Anyway, lovely reminder that most relationships will crush and burn in course of time and to be honest, I don’t need that kind of pain ever again.
