we don’t talk enough about about daciana and her influence on claudia. we don’t talk about how absolutely captivating and spellbinding her actress, diana gheorghian, was in encapsulating such withered, archaic despair. she wants a family. she wants her revenants to live like regular vampires, but the war and its horrors and hopelessness has poisoned the blood of those involved.
claudia presented a picture of hope and unity. she wanted daciana to be her family without realizing that the older vampire had no hope and responded almost mockingly. after so many long years of loneliness and suffering, claudia could offer her one thing - her blood, not entirely saturated with war. daciana was able to find some small and nourishing amount of happiness - the ‘good blood’ before ending her own misery. death was such a relief to daciana, and i cannot keep her image out of my mind for long. one short, kind, gift of joy before giving into the pain of the fire and the peace of death.
