They are both just relatively chill dudes hunted by the Spiral going Vast to escape it? What im saying is i need a fic about Mike and David being best friends and Mike teaching David how to fly

But consider: what if Mike is the reason David went Vast in the first place?

I'm just picturing David chillin in a park, watching the sunrise trying to mind his own business when Mike happens to roll up. There is the usual "Oh? Nice view isn't it :) Why don't you take a closer look :) :)" before he hurls him up into the sky. A week later, David pops back into existence right in Mike's living room, like "Well, that was just lovely, but how do I STAY there?"
