About 2025 and the ban: most people don't think Jannik was actually referring to Carlos when he talked about being surprised some people didn't reach out to him. It's impossible to say if he was, but Carlos was the one who made a lot of it public by questioning if it could have been referring to him (when asked), and then outing that he hadn't messaged him. It was definitely a bit of a divorce era, because there was awkwardness between them. I think most of us figured that Carlos's team probably advised him not to reach out (since Carlos had been keeping a very neutral stance on the ban as a whole) or if you want to get more rpf-y maybe Carlos felt like Jannik wouldn't have wanted to hear from him. As for the champagne in Rome, supposedly that was simply because Jannik didn't realize there was any champagne there for two, but again we can't know that for sure. Maybe some of the reason for it was just the distance that was happening between them at that point. Because neither of them were sure where they stood with the other which I imagine would make it hard to have a champagne celebration with
Yes I see that the general consensus is that:
1) Jannik probably wasn't referring to Carlos when he said that because they weren't close enough at that point to expect a message from him.
2) Carlos was probably advised by his team to not talk about the matter or reach out to Jannik. It's kinda funny how he outed himself lol maybe he felt a lil bit guilty.
3) Jannik was generally in awkward terms with most people in the atp after his ban, which is understandable.
