’he just said…”where’s Stan?”’
So, I can't sleep, and my mind just ran wild with Killing Eve's plot in S3. I'm going to write them down before they escape.
All in all, I'm okay with where it all started and where it ends. But there are major things I would have changed. I like that Carolyn and Konstantin's relationship serves as a foil or warning for Eve and Villanelle (they literally were the audience in that scene). C and K have a complicated past, and introducing C's daughter was the right path to further demonstrate the casuality of it (C being a cold mother, K uses her to gain intel etc.). However, the red herring stuff was unnecessary. Instead, I want more in on E's psyche and her relationship with others after getting shot and abandoned by V.
I want E to have a phone call with her parents in Korean(her aunt must have told them). I want her parents to ask E how is Nico and what he's doing, and I want E to admit that "it's not his fault" (the undertone would be "I'm the one that cheated"). I want to know that E's parents are perfectly loving yet they know there's always something E's looking for and they (or Nico) cannot give her. If V does happen to stalk E before making a contact, i want V to learn Korean to eavesdrop conversations in the resturant. I don't particularly care about how Nico is maimed. I do want some introspection on how Nico is the perfectly safe and boring option, yet E chooses to leave.
Meanwhile, it would totally be in character for V to go off and marry a rich lady then just abandon her. It would also be in character for her to just show up and think all is forgiven, and the bus scene is gold. But why this happens? V is narcissistic enough to think like that. But why does she think like that? Instead of the Emmy bait episode, I want to have more flashbacks of V and Anna --- because Anna gaslit V and because Anna was hot and cold. It would demonstrate that how some of V's traits are learned behavior and she is capable of change. I want this instead of the home episode because we are not really supposed to know V. Her background was kept intentionally vague and I don't think it needs any clarification. Matricide aside, I think everyone would be more interested to see how young V and Anna manipulated each other, and how this experience negatively affected V's life. Like many others have pointed out, Anna was an abuser. We see a broken down V now and we need to see a broken down V then. Maybe some of these flashbacks will be parallel to some flashbacks of E's past life. I think this will help the story flash out character development without explicitly discussing it. It shows that E and V reflect on their past choices and consciously reach to each other. Because the goal is to have them meet in the middle somehow.
So now you have these 2 people, E and V, standing at opposite ends of a literal bridge, looking in to each other. What's gonna happen next? Will they learn to love how the other one loves? Will they dive while grabbing on to each other? Or will they just, leave? Guess we won't know until next year.
What happened to Kenny is a proof that Niko is so fucking boring and useless! Killing him off will not affect anyone, even Eve!
