Heavy spoilers for Tokyo Revengers!!

Preliminary Information

Hello! These are my charts of statistics for how many times Baji haunts the narrative after his death in the Valhalla arc. I did spend about a week putting all this information together, so if you saw a mistake with my counting, no you didn’t lmao; and fun fact! The majority of the graphs are a deep blue color because that’s what Baji’s official character image color is. I love him. Anyways, smth smth “that’s ridiculous. Who would spend an entire week reading through Tokyo Revengers just to quantify how many times the other characters talk about Baji?”

I would.

Additionally, for the sake of clarification, I grouped the specific ways that Baji is brought up within the story into seven major categories which are:

Direct references by name

Direct reference by “he / him / you” pronouns

Other direct references (“someone” / “one death” / interrupted reactions, etc.)

Indirect references in which Baji’s presence is implied or is canonically confirmed to influence characters’ actions, their arcs in the future, and alterations of physical appearance (not including instances subject to conjecture like Mikey potentially resembling his dead loved ones in the future, because iirc even though it makes sense, that’s not canonically confirmed)

Singular panels / echo of previous dialogue

Important symbols (eg. the charm, Baji’s bike, etc.)

However, for one of the charts I also simplified them into three broader categories, just so the information would be more concise to look at, which are:

Things to note!!:

Since Baji is included periodically throughout two pretty long multi-chapter flashbacks from Mikey and Shinichirou’s perspectives (one on Mikey’s meta of strength, and Shinichirou’s flashback from the Original Timeline and the origin of the “dark impulse”), for the sake of quantification each time Baji appears will be counted under category five as single panel references, and not as full elaborative flashbacks.

Also, the reason why this ended up being so long is because I listed all the instances that Baji is brought up in chronological order at the end of the post.
