im scared of how jorge will present hector and paris' relationship like im genuinely so scared that he'll make hector be cruel to paris- he hates paris but that's his little brother!!!! he'll throw insults at paris but it hurts him to hear his people say the same thing at paris!!!!
oh god people are gonna be insufferable and might just make the most horrendous takes for them.... i hope that doesn't happen but with how epic ended im just scared
See, there's hoping that it does not happen but it isn't much hoping!
I think when you work with the Iliad as your inspiration/base material, it's the issue of POV. Like, the Iliad has as many singing voices as it has warriors on the battlefield, etc. Homeric text avoids this problem because it's an epic narrative where everyone comes into focus for a little bit and there's enough time to introduce your main actors, but with a musical I don't really see how it's entirely... possible. So if he chooses the narrative to be Achilles' POV, as I have little reason to believe he is interested in the Trojans due to how Odysseus was softened down, then there's not much room for complexity for the Trojans because of POV limitations alone.
Hector and Paris are complex and an outsider's POV would not work for them. He'd have to somehow pick a new "voice" for each given song if he wants to present them as equally compelling.
And like. An average myth enjoyer already comes into anything Paris with disdain because there's a narrative of "picking the bad guy" in every complex myth out there. And with Jorge's Epic experience I think he unfortunately doesn't do moral nuance well. So yeah I'm with you in the fear boat.

Forgot to update y’all but I didn’t get the job for starters, which sucks, but worse off is that I have to deal with a dental bill that I wasn’t expecting to have to worry about ‘til October that’s almost $2,000.
Ain’t life grand?
does this extend to Black & brown leftists & arming up and hanging out at suburban polling places or nah?
