chanel hadn’t quite thought it through when she’d asked her mother to send her a costume for the halloween party. it probably cost a small fortune to even ship, nevermind the actual cost of the dress itself. but the dress is very beautiful, and it makes her super nostalgic and reminds her of halloween with her siblings back home so she decides to thank her mother profusely and wear the dress.
she goes all out, just like she does every time she gets dressed up for something. she spends hours clipping blonde extensions in, cursing the fact that she’d had to have the majority of it chopped off. she spends the majority of her time painting her face and taking pictures that may or may not find their way to the legacy instagram.
hours after she starts getting ready she exits her room as sarah jessica parker’s witch in hocus pocus, and she’s fashionably late to the event. she almost forgets her camera in her hurry to get going to the party, quickly dashing back into her room to pick it up before leaving again.
she gets to the party and gets to work, snapping pictures left and right. the black and gold decorations are pretty and they make her dress look prettier, she thinks as she takes some pictures of them and of herself. she brightens at the people who compliment her costume, handing out compliments to others left and right. she takes pictures for the other trainees whenever they ask, doing her absolute best to get good lighting. she gets a few of her own photos against the different props in the room, sending them to her sister to help her choose the best ones.
the party goes on and on, well into the night. she tries to do a little of everything, steering well clear of the dance competition but singing her lungs out at the noraebang battle. When it finally comes time for her to leave, she’s pretty proud of the fact that she’s still intact; hair in place, heels still on and camera in her bag.
two days into hell week and chanel is on edge. monday had been fine, she’d reused an old wonder woman costume she’d had made for one of her friend’s costume parties, and it was easy enough to dance in a leotard. tuesday had been better, candy filling the practice rooms and easily swept up and into her bag for her to enjoy upon returning home. that’s how she knew to expect the worse on wednesday.
chanel prides herself on being cool, calm and collected 99 percent of the time. it could be from the years of spending time on her father’s movie sets, maybe the few horror movies she’d done herself. but she’s very rarely scared of anything, so when she turns up for her schedule on wednesday morning she lets out a laugh when she sees the state that the company has been transformed to.
“this is sick, i love it!” she mutters to herself as she pushes open doors that don’t normally make a sound, and grins as they squeak and protest under her hands. she had to give it to the decorators, the place was definitely unnerving. the once bright lights were dimmed and the walls looked grimey and old. the whole ambience of the place was completely different.
she made her way down the dimly lit corridors, toward her usual vocal lessons. the excitement and anticipation began building as she made her way down the different hallways, hoping for a good scare.
she gets the scare she’s been waiting for when she turns the corner, almost walking straight into an absolutely nightmarish vision of a ghost. “oh my god!” she yelps and then laughs, staring at the ghost as it goes past, “you look fabulous!”. she encounters another two ‘ghosts’ on her way to her lesson and another five throughout the day.
this is one of the better halloweens she’s had since she joined legacy.
