Sitting on the stoop of her Queens apartment the blackout didn’t bother Athena so much. Once she knew her grandfather was settled in, the old man opting to just sleep through the blackout, she let herself just enjoy the relative quiet. Still, it was an odd set up, Athena having placed two candles beside her, burning bright as she read her book on the steps. At least in the relative dark it wasn’t so obvious the book was a romance novel. She felt a pair of eyes on her and did not look up from the page. “Can I help you?” She asked in an uninterested tone as the heroine was being swept up into the arms of her hero on the page.

Nia had been laying out on the beach letting the sun warm her skin. Her hat over her face, as she sense someone’s approach. She sat up then and looked at the snacks she had sprawled out and some of the togo plates and then the other person. “Listen...I’m not cheap by any means...and I do have groceries in my home...but they said all you can eat and I simply interpreted that as all I can eat later today, so if I have some togo plates and snacks and plan to get some more later...they said it was free...”

“I have to say the red carpet is a very nice touch.” She admitted with a laugh, she watched as some of her fellow witches walked down it getting their pictures taken and posing in tons of different positions; like they were walking an actual red carpet. “Have you thought about what poses you’re going to do? Or you going to try the get down it as quickly as possible method?” She asked. She couldn’t decide if she actually wanted to do this, or just try to wait out the photographers until they left. “Do you think they have a back entrance? I’m not against skipping this and using that entrance.”

“So I gotta hit all the blue cups for the teddy bear? Got it.” Eliot confirms with the owner, the toy rifle in his hands. He breathes in and out, then with a sharp glint in his eyes he takes the shots. One, two, three... and four blue targets fall one by one. Lowering the gun, he grins at the owner whose jaw dropped with the shock. “Forgot to warn ya-- I spent a summer working at a carnival once and burned most of my paycheck on games like these so...” Instead of keeping the giant stuffed teddy bear, however, he hands it over to the kid that was crying about losing the game. “Here, you can have him. Merry, uh... Christmas? That’s a thing, y’know, Christmas in July.” The child and their parent thank him before going off to get some ice cream. Eliot, content that he made that kid’s day, turns his attention back to the game. “Still got it,” he picks back up the gun. “Alright, what next? Any prize you want?”

Guilt isn’t a familiar feeling for Lysander, but, when a new member joined the pack not so long ago and her face was about as familiar as their own, they felt plenty more foreign feelings than mere guilt. Since the reunion, things between them have been delicate to say the least. Cordial small talk in groups, but never alone together. At first Lys figured it best to give her some space and let her come to them when ready. However, seeing her now all dressed up, blending in so beautifully, but with that far off, lonely look in her eyes they know so well... it seems like she could use an old friend in a crowd of strangers. And maybe they could too. They take a couple hefty chugs of their drink before making their way through the crowd to meet her. Never having been at a loss for words around her, it’s shocking how tongue-tied they are right now, “...Hey. I–uh...” They scratch their head awkwardly, “You looked like you were going into Space Cadet Kaya mode, so I thought I’d come by and make sure you were okay.”

PRESENTING DARKEST HOURS 4TH OF JULY PARTY: LET’S GET LIT

Join the pack as they celebrate the 4th of July in style. There’s a little bit of everything for everyone. If you like the spirit competition and want bragging rights, all you can eat options throughout the day and night, partying or just  a day on the beach this celebration is the place to be.

This will be a two week long event starting today that will go until Friday, July 16th. 

REMINDERS:

This event will start on Friday, July 2nd and go until Friday, July 16th.

In roleplay time the event will be on July 4th It is one night only!

The tag for the event will be darkestevent3. Everything from pictures, outfits, threads, and etc all need to be under the tag. Starters should have both the starter and event tag.

This event is NOT mandatory, but is highly encouraged. 

We ask that you please make event threads priority and everything else second.

This event will be a free for all — but we do encourage you to reach out to those who you don’t usually interact with.

Any big plots should be discussed with the admins before playing them out on the dash. If you have any big plots you want to do let us know.

THINGS TO DO/OFFERED AT CONEY ISLAND/YACHT PARTY:

CONEY ISLAND:

Amusement Park - Come take Advantage of the Farris Wheel and roller coasters that Coney Island has to offer. 

Arm Wrestling Competition -  The werewolves will be holding arm wrestling competitions throughout the day. Come see if you can beat the best and the strongest. 

Board Walk/Carnival - Enjoy carnival games, food, and small shops!

Food -  All you can eat from any venue along the boardwalk as long as you have a wristband

Volleyball Tournament - Get a team together and come battle against each other for the win.

YACHT PARTY: 

BBQ/Cook Out - All you can eat BBQ/Cook out prepared and grilled by The Pack!

Dance floor/DJ - The DJ will be spinning all night so take a moment and step out onto the dance floor.

Fireworks - A fireworks show will be presented by The Pack.

Full Bar - Please take advantage and enjoy the fully stocked bar. While this bar is free we ask that you tip the staff well.

Free Lyft/Uber Rides - These will be free to make sure everyone gets home safe.

Musical Guests -  Lizzo, Meg Thee Stallion, and Isaiah Grayson will be preforming throughout the night. 

Photo room - Stop by the photo room to take a few photos to remember the night by. Professional photographers will be lined up in the room, there is a photobooth in the back if you’re wanting a more vintage photo.

Red Carpet - A red carpet will be rolled out in front of the yacht. Feel free to get your picture taken as you enter.

This is a terrible, terrible idea. She knows the moment she boards the yacht and sees a handful of familiar people, none of which are the roommates she accidentally ditched to ride the roller coaster with a stranger. Thankfully, a different familiar face comes into view. Mirana quickly approaches them, desperate to appear in conversation and less approachable. “ Rai ! Who knew you were one for yacht parties ? ” she remarks with a smirk. “ Here to observe all the city’s finest and their petty dramas ? Or is it the free food ? ”

“So who’s going to ride The Thunderbolt with me and not judge me for screaming when I feel like I’m going to plunge to my death? I’d offer to buy you something, but everything’s free. What if it said I could introduce you to Meg later on the yacht? Would you say yes then?” she asked, knowing well that the one time she did scream or rather have a really high pitched squeal it would be because she was on a rollercoaster. She was a fan of thrill but she also always had an involuntary reaction to the 90 degree drop that occurred.
