COLLYMORE, ARTHUR
___
Arthur initially reeled their head back with an offended gasp as Lorelai leaned in from the top bunk. āOur enemy? My God, you speak as if weāre still in The War!ā They swallowed hard and mustered some semblance of courage, pushing themselves forward and beginning to wag a finger. āN-Now you listen here. Qui- Ms.Sinclair is anything but an enemy and I will not be having anyone in this team speaking ill of her or so help me-ā The vampire suddenly bit their tongue and clasped a hand over their mouth. Arthur already made an enemy of one Hastings, they didnāt need another. āDid you hear the rest of it? Wonderful cast of wildcards. Thatās what I said. Was that not flattering enough?ā They forced a deep breath, trying to regain their composure. āI had little choice but to come and enjoy what little times of peace we have left. Good āol sports and comradery. You act like a participation ribbon is so bad. Being a part of something is a challenge in itself. Trying deserves a reward.ā

ā Weāre supernatural, arenāt we always at war ? ā At a finger being wagged in her direction, Lorelai nearly laughed. They didnāt scare her.Ā ā Ms. Sinclair ? āĀ She had little interest in identifying the other person in the conversation after sheād heard Arthurās words, as the woman clearly was not on their team. Eyebrows raised in fresh interest.Ā ā And who exactly is this Miss Sinclair to you if you must defend her so honorably ? ā Wonderful cast of wildcards. No, sheād stormed off before she could catch that bit.Ā ā...Ā A wildcard, hm ? ā she repeated a moment or two later, ego now stroked.Ā ā I suppose I do enjoy being underestimated. ā A loud scoff followed immediately after.Ā ā A participation ribbon ? Iāve thrown any in the trash since I was a child. Hasnāt anyone ever told you trying doesnāt matter unless you win ? ā
