Okay, but your bodyswap thing has me thinking about body swap ideas I had about the Shimada Brothers before - imagine Hanzo misguidedly trying to convince Genji to stay switched. To let Genji have his body as some kind of atonement for the one he took from him 😢
You had to go there, dear anon. ;~;
Of course Genji is very opposed to the idea.
He tells Hanzo that he not only felt at ease and at home with his new self and doesn’t want to undo the hard work Dr. Ziegler or Zenyatta did to save and help him but he doesn’t want to put Hanzo through some of the pain he most likely still feels with his cyborg body; a body that Hanzo doesn’t quite know how to work, which could get him into serious trouble or killed.
Knowing Hanzo, though, this is exactly what he wants and it just crushes Genji.
Genji can’t stand the thought of Hanzo purposely hurting and putting himself through even more unnecessary torment than he already is suffering through. Unfortunately his big bro is adamant and considers this swap the best self-punishment that is second only to death.
Genji doesn’t miss the way Hanzo freezes up or shakes when he’s gripping his katana or wakizashi before a training session.
Genji empathetically suggests that they should stick with the weapons they know but Hanzo refuses, saying it was part of his punishment and that he must wield his guilt, no matter how heavy it is and that they need to know the other’s skills, strengths and weaknesses since they’re unsure how long this swap will last.
Genji is also really wanting to talk to Hanzo about his prosthetics but is unable to find an appropriate moment or gets interrupted before he gets the chance.
