Headcanon Tommy Shelby

You were his secretary. You knew very well what the family does.

You needed the job and the pay was good so you just needed to stay away from problems and that’s what you kept a distance with Tommy, that doesn’t mean he’s not good-looking, though.

But you were pretty good and efficient at your work.

One day, Arthur got into the office looking for Tommy, completely drunk and shouting a ridiculous amount of swearings. He seemed high and you feel pity for him, you’d had an alcoholic uncle and it wasn’t nice. Arthur wasn’t in his senses and even though you were scared, you forced yourself to pretend you were okay. 

Seeing his state, you decided he couldn’t leave on his own and sent the message to the bar, where you knew Tommy was. It was a risky decision but you had already taken it and there was no turning back.

Of course, you sometimes were scared of Tommy, but you wouldn’t show it and was sure that without a reason, he would never hurt you.

If he didn’t kill Grace for what she did, why would he kill you?

Waiting for Tommy to arrive, you talked a little bit with Arthur, you dared again to suggest something, maybe he could stay away from the family business for a while. Arthur just smiled, said that he’d think about it and added:

“He needs someone like you”

“Who?”

“Tommy”.

You looked away, with a small smile. This drunk man saying such things... but inside your chest, you skipped a breath.

Tommy arrived and saw the corner of your lips with the remnants of a smile, he tensed his expression and proceeded to give some words to Arthur and sent him home.

You stayed sit, you’d wait for Tommy to leave so you can also go home when he asked:

“Was Arthur flirting with you?”

What?! you thought. “Not at all, sir” you answered meeting his gaze with a serious look, you always tried your best for being serious.

“Good. See you tomorrow”

Tommy was aware of his brother’s manners, and just thinking what he could have done in his state was driving him crazy so he would spend some words with Arthur to keep him his distance from you. He secretly thought that you deserved more than Arthur, after all, you were normal and pure, or maybe he was jealous for seeing you smile because of his brother.

You didn’t know it but it was the beginning of something.

I don’t have any idea what I’m doing but this didn’t leave my head so, here it is.
