thinking about the partner choices guy makes throughout the show and just putting in my two cents on why i think guy acts how he does
but like me when guy chooses yet another woman who clearly doesn’t want to be around him but needs to or is stuck with him, over men that tell it to him straight and is honest in their emotions like oh i wonder
i wonder why the boy whos never met his father and likely grew up hating him for leaving his mom behind when its very likely his mom left on her own due to her bloodline and then his mom leaves him with a deep emotional wound and he has nothing bad to say about her *now* cuz shes alive and that’s all that matters
the worst thing guys mom ever did to him in his eyes was choose the drugs over staying alive but because shes on the run she left to *protect him* apparently and abandonment issues dont even begin to cover whatever the hell guy anatoles got going on cuz hes willing to overlook physical and emotional abandonemt alike just to keep someone close
he is desperate for any smidgen of care but the moment things get real and he has to be anything other than that little boy looking up at his mom from her lap and feeling her fingers in his hair he gets scared cuz he thinks she overdosed- left him- cuz he got older and started displaying a personality
so now hes stunted his sense of self and development to preserve his relationships but all that pent up emotion still leaves and it comes out like an ever roaring fire, a reactionary dog tied to a post destined to bite the hand that feeds him and feed on what the hand drops out of pain and anger and fear anyway
and at the end of the day he’s trying his hardest to be someone his mom will want to come home to
