I am watching A Court of Fae and Flowers (the new Dimension 20 season) and WOW this one is proving to be a masterclass of character dynamics that are absolute catnip for me.
Honorable people falling in love against their will, slicing themselves open on the edge of their duty, hurting themselves and each other while trying so hard to do the right thing (the PINING!).
Hiding people with very good reasons to hide, choosing different times and ways to reveal themselves and being showered with love and acceptance despite their own worst expectations.
Absolute drama-mongering trashfires who are facing Consequences for their actions and trying to be better people, but who are still drama-mongering trashfires at their core.
AND
An ace character who aesthetically is the beautiful midnight nightmare prince and emotionally is a socially awkward golden retriever who is trying so hard to not let the atmosphere of fae competition and debauchery get in the way of making good friends.
