“So--” The boy turned to the person nearest him, a straight and serious face sculpting his features. “Ferb, whaddya wanna do today?” A smile broke through, and he laughed.

Bill was pissed. His father had been back on this world for a month now and nothing. No calls, no letters, not even a quick jaunt into the Dreamscape to say "Hi I'm not dead, you can stop blaming yourself now." The demon had given his adoptive father a month, because humans were slow and forgetful and with immortality, Bill had all the time in the world. But it had been a month with not even a peep from the old man. In his anger, Bill broke his umpteenth beer bottle, grabbing another one to make up for the absence. Now he just wished he could get drunk.
