Do you ever just suddenly feel the overwhelming need to be good at everything and start practicing now or you won't have enough time later and then pick up ten new hobbies and get extremely overwhelmed by them then the next day you just completely forget about them until the feeling comes back? I sure do

Rant
As someone who both draws/paints and writes, writing is honestly much harder for me. Harder because when you draw and something's not right with it, you can see what's the problem just by looking at it. If you used the wrong colours, if the shape is unrealistic or if the composition is unbalanced, it always shows.
With writing, however, it's harder to tell. No matter how many books I read, I look at my own writing, I know if it's not good, but I can't tell why. I do see that I improve with time, and looking back maybe I can even find my past mistakes, but now it makes editing a struggle. Does anyone know how can I get better at it?
