“You're hiding a painful burden.”

While Shuichi did have his times he didn’t want to exactly show he was pained or sad... certain topics he didn’t like to talk about at all, even with people close to him: were about his parents.
Their neglect only intensified his legitimate fear of being all alone and he strongly wants to keep telling himself excuses like ‘They’re busy, they can’t always have the time to check up on me.’ or ‘They have their own “hands-off” approach of taking care of me.’
It was as if he was so afraid of just accepting they neglect him, that Shuichi purposely, but unintentionally: refuses to acknowledge that, and the subconscious bitterness he feels towards them for it.
So, like always: he just forces a smile and brushes it off with: “...I’m not. I’m...alright.”

Rant
As someone who both draws/paints and writes, writing is honestly much harder for me. Harder because when you draw and something's not right with it, you can see what's the problem just by looking at it. If you used the wrong colours, if the shape is unrealistic or if the composition is unbalanced, it always shows.
With writing, however, it's harder to tell. No matter how many books I read, I look at my own writing, I know if it's not good, but I can't tell why. I do see that I improve with time, and looking back maybe I can even find my past mistakes, but now it makes editing a struggle. Does anyone know how can I get better at it?
