Cassie was lingering in the locker room. The game didn’t start for another hour or so, and her nerves hadn’t gotten any better. She let out a breath and set her broom against her locker, slipping out of the room to take a quick walk around the stadium before the game in attempt to clear her mind. It didn’t help. The more she walked, the more her eyes would wander to the pitch and the more nervous she would feel.

Thankfully, she hadn’t put her phone in her locker yet and still had it with her. As she made her way back to the locker rooms, she sent him a text, pausing to lean against the outside wall as she waited for him. Cassie tapped her nails against the screen and waited, instantly feeling a little relieved when she saw him make his way through the crowd and over to where she was. She walked over to him and immediately buried her head against his chest. “I feel like I’m having some kind of panic attack - why am I this nervous?” Cassie sighed and lifted her head after a moment, looking up at him. “Something just feels off.” She paused, “I think I need you, I don’t know. I’m not used to doing this without you.”
