Good news: I finished the next part of my Emmcanis fic!
Bad news: I haven’t written the beginning.

I will be making a giant "Hey, here's all my books!" post soon, but in the meantime, I'm going to babble about this one. ❤️
Working on it helped me realize that historical horror is absolutely My Thing. The reception has been amazing (thank you so much, horror community!) and I adore the cover art from Kealan Patrick Burke entirely too much.
Synopsis:
"When a prairie-mad settler murders Milton Allen's brother and his entire family, the wealthy rancher offers an enormous bounty to bring the culprit in. Ada Marshall and Pearl Beckwourth, bounty hunters with twenty years experience, assume this is yet another straightforward job.
But when a fellow bounty hunter is torn to pieces not fifty feet away from their camp, their natural wariness grows, and in the tiny, isolated valley town of Woodlawn, they learn that the attacker may not even be human..."

me, now that the weekend is over
I mean, it’s only Monday! It’s also spring break! There are lots of things they could be doing, like contacting references, or meeting with HR, or crafting polite rejection emails for the finalists they didn’t choose!
I hate having my hopes up though. Like, I keep trying to convince myself that I’m not going to get the job because I’m overqualified or because they have a more local candidate or because someone else is just better at it but I really want it, you guys. And getting rejected by people who already know me would really, really suck.

There is every chance my brain saw him standing in front of a body of water and whispered ‘Push him in’.
And...just...no, brain, he’s dressed up for some event. They mustn’t push him in...even if it’d be kinda funny and pictures of a wet Bai Yu wouldn’t exactly be unwanted.

@kittandchips replied to this post: The way I see this...we got around 30 odd minutes of Vader in the six plus hours of the original movies. During those minutes, there's evidence to support numerous different interpretations of his character. I don't think the more caring, fatherly portrayals are OOC...they're as equally valid as the brutal ones, it's just that every author has their own take, and as you say, that's fic and it's all good.
Did he see the hand slicing as a necessary evil to force Luke to stop fighting, after he'd already tried several times to end the fight without injuring him? Did he see it as something Luke deserved as punishment for striking him? Was it a moment of blind rage that he later regretted, in the same way he regretted hurting Padmé? Was he actually trying to hit the lightsaber hilt and just went slightly too low? Did he think 'just a hand, whatevs'?
I've read all those takes in fanfic and I think all of them can work.
This whole debate amuses me too as it reminds me of the argument between Luke and Vader in RotJ as to how much good remains in him. Luke seems like a deluded optimist when he actually imagines Vader will come away with him for father-son bonding time, but when he concedes that Luke was right all along with his dying breath, you realise he actually wanted to.
