he’s never been the type to deviate from the norm—desiring nothing more but to maintain the painfully mundane of his everyday, 9-to-5 work life, that wish extends to how he spends moments that are free from the whine and grind of factory machines.
when jin steps inside the tavern and makes eye contact with the bartender, the other’s already getting to work, glass in one hand, bottle of brandy in the other. he takes his seat by the L where a certain bounty hunter has already staked claim as hers, and crosses his arms over the smooth countertop. for a couple of minutes, jin simply watches quietly, neither taken aback or disgruntled when she knocks back her drinks like cold water. then, because he’s mildly curious and it’s always been his way of starting up conversation: “what’s your body count for today, doberg?”

much to ila's chagrin, the place she'd made a reservation at required a strict dress code from its guests. it's only expected from one of republic city's finer establishments, where caviar is served on mother of pearl as casually as cheese and crackers.
asana's choices are a little more practical: spicy roe and cucumber salad with a light wine to wash it all down. but she’s barely touched her plate, what with the tall tale ila recounted between bites of lunch.
“so...you left him there?” it’s neither disappointment nor surprise that shows in her expression, but something along the lines of quiet awe. “just like that?”
