which tragic character from ancient greek literature are you?
you are antigone, from the theban plays by sophocles. you are bold, unwavering in your morals and your passion, an unstoppable force of nature. but when you go head-to-head with an immovable object, your ideals can lead you to self-destruction. you are stubbornly resilient and fearless to a fault, and aren't afraid to stand alone in the face of death. antigone, in your quest for justice, don't forget: you are allowed to step back, to love life a little, to be young once more before soldiering on to the very very end. be selfish in your fierceness, just once.
you are pentheus from the bacchae by euripides, and you hold yourself so tightly wound together and so perfectly in place that even the slightest push will make you shatter. you are determined, you are headstrong, and you are addicted to pushing yourself to your farthest limits just to see when you'll snap. you find comfort in tradition, order, and authority, because that's where you are allowed to be blind to the darkness inside you. once in a while, give into the temptation and the chaos you keep denying yourself. it's the only way to not be afraid anymore.

most of my demigods: normal, canon-typical weapons. a sword, a knife, a bow, etc. javan & stetson: G U N
❝ i have a feeling we’re going to get along. ❞ (Zander to Javan, from the Overwatch meme)

"then there's only one way to check." javan handed zander one of his many paintbrushes. "pick a canvas and make something." he used art to see what others wouldn't tell him. he might be a son of law, but art had yet to let him down. the einherji picked up a different brush. "two people, one piece."
as the son of an aesir god of law, javan has conflicting powers.
he has a persuasive aura over not just the courtroom, but also over fights. he can either inflate feelings of rage to add to battles or calm those same feelings down to serve the purpose of seeing a non-violent resolution.
javan also has telumkinesis, which means he can master any weapon & has immense knowledge of any weapon in his sight. he can summon any weapon he has bonded to (ex: his rifle & bow) to his side in an instant.
as expected of any child of an aesir, javan is an insane fighter. he doesn’t tend to use this facet of his powers, much preferring the use ranged weapons over close combat.
he’s also an expert on the law of all lands, justice, & the enforcement of them.
unlike most demigods, javan never picked a weapon and stayed with it. before his death, he mainly used the bow & arrow as he liked to show off that he was trained enough to use it effectively. however, he still knew how to use a sword and dagger, even if he was slightly less effective with them.
after dying, javan had nothing but time on his hands as he waited for ragnarök. he started out by just keeping up his artistry, but before long that became boring to him. it was just the same brushstrokes all the time.
so he started learning different weapons, even if his telumkinesis made it all super easy it was still something to do. he perfected his technique with the broadsword and the dagger. the raiper and battle axe were both mastered. with the invention of the gun, he learned that. javan was quickly found to be one of valhalla’s best sharpshooters (even if some of the other warriors felt that he was cowardly for using a ranged weapon).
his favorite weapon will always be the bow & arrow, followed closely by the rifle. but javan has never felt stuck to one specific weapon. even if he does have a mass of enchanted & named weapons in his arsenal.
what shape does your pain take?
ASPH: you hide your pain behind a mask. maybe you feel you can’t be helped, maybe you think no one cares, maybe you don’t want to hurt anyone else with it, you’re afraid of being judged, or maybe there’s another reason. but whatever the reason, you fake a smile and try to function normally even though you’re one step away from falling apart. secretly, you wish someone would notice it’s a mask, ask you if you’re really okay, see right through and make it be okay somehow. you’re hurt and a little angry that no one’s noticed yet, but you’ll never admit it. white lies, not that bad… are they?
JAVAN: you’re drowning. a sea of emotions, responsibilities, people, things, everything. you just can’t handle it all, you need to escape, but you can’t. even talking to someone and being told it’s okay, compliments, nice things people say, it all adds up to drown you further. guilt, for feeling this way when everyone’s being nice and you’re not enough. will you sink or swim?
MARLY-ALICE: you hide your pain behind a mask. maybe you feel you can’t be helped, maybe you think no one cares, maybe you don’t want to hurt anyone else with it, you’re afraid of being judged, or maybe there’s another reason. but whatever the reason, you fake a smile and try to function normally even though you’re one step away from falling apart. secretly, you wish someone would notice it’s a mask, ask you if you’re really okay, see right through and make it be okay somehow. you’re hurt and a little angry that no one’s noticed yet, but you’ll never admit it. white lies, not that bad… are they?
MILLS: you feel disconnected from the world around you. you can see everything, everyone can see you, but you’re not really there. no one can really communicate with you, can they? you’re isolated, even when you’re around people you’re alone. you want desperately to be close to someone, but you’re afraid of what will happen if you shatter your glass prison. you don’t want to let someone in, you don’t want to leave, and it’s a constant battle of your own will. it’s easier to be alone, where no one can hurt you… isn’t it?
SAWYER: your pain takes the shape of flowers, or something else beautiful and free. you can’t help but see what you don’t have in the beautiful thing, can’t help but feel pain as you see what you’re missing out on. maybe you even wish that you could just be happy and surround yourself in flowers, but you can’t, because each time you see them it’s like a reminder of the empty hole you carry. they say that pain is beauty… right?
