sometimes i think about everything yang has been through and i just... am in awe of her?

like this is a girl who went the first 17 years of her life knowing little to nothing about her birth mother, met that birth mother to learn she was an abusive monster, lost her actual mother at an incredibly young age, was forced into a pseudo parent role for her younger sister when her father was too stricken by grief to parent, lost an arm trying to protect someone she cared about and then lost that person (her heart) too, fought her way back to her found family, battled a shared demon with blake and won, grappled with the realization that authority figures will not protect you and the people you care about so sometimes you have to take it upon yourself to do so....

and now that she has taken it upon herself? well she’d do it a thousand times over if it meant protecting her loved ones even if she knew the outcome would be that same fall every single time. she’s the heart and soul of team rwby and once they’re all back together in v9? oh they’re gonna make sure she knows it
