“Ugh why is he blond why is he a twink” okay honestly that’s just scratching the surface of why this character design and characterization are so bizarre because like. I guess he’s here because of a bit of Catholic lore saying that he guards the pearly gates, but beyond that, like…this guy is one of Jesus’s disciples. “Oh ye of little faith” was said to him by Jesus when he failed to walk on water with Jesus because he didn’t believe strongly enough that he could. He is “Pete” when you say “for Pete’s sake.” He was crucified upside down as an old man next to Jesus because he didn’t believe that he deserved to be crucified in the same manner as Jesus.

And like, make no mistake, I am not even remotely religious—I just grew up knowing about this. So it’s very dissonant to know that and see thinks weird little dingus go “OOOOOHHH GET DUNKED ON” when I know who he’s supposed to be. Also where’s his nose. Where’s his NOSE.

Also yeah he probably shouldn’t be blond or white , goes without saying ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
