#the asshole speaks #i dont mean this in like a Bad way #but like #i've always known that my dads parents prefer my cousins and half sister to me and my younger sister #*sisters #and like everyone else is aware of it??#like my great aunt rose is aware of it and hates it #my dad fell out with them multiple times bc he didnt like how they were treating us #but not much has changed even though you'd expect them to make more of an effort bc he's dead now #it jsut fucking sucks to know you always come second best #and like my mums parents are great bc they actually bother with us outside of holidays/birthdays #but we all know that their friends prefer my uncle and his kids #which like let me be petty for a second #i'm the first grandkid on that side of the family to graduate AND i did it during fuckshit Rona hours like #i got a higher grade than my mum #i fucking Did it #and it fucking sucks that i can succeed as much as i can but i'm never gonna be good enough compared to them #negativity warning #sorry for exorcising some Family Shit y'all

Holiday 2019 pros and cons: (spoilers, it was pretty good overall)

Pros: - I played piano and my family all sang carols and it was so fun! - I got a reusable water bottle that’s machine washable! - I got an air filter-y mask that’s got some flowers and bright colors on it so hopefully people will stop looking at me like I am going to rob them when I have to wear the mask in public (my old mask is solid super dark blue and people are suspicious) - the food was AMAZING - Everybody loved the presents I got them! - we played this xylophone music game but everyone playing also plays instruments so no one got eliminated and we ended up going through all the songs Cons: - I had an asthma attack while playing piano and when I asked for someone to go grab my purse with my inhaler, everybody but my little brother was kinda tipsy and they kept telling me my backpack was next to me instead of helping, which made it difficult to tell my brother where my purse was - I seem to have developed a new minor food allergy? Or ate something I haven’t had before that I am allergic to? - my other brother and his family were sick so they didn’t come over :( Overall, my Christmas was pretty good! I hope all of y’all are doing okay this holiday season, and that you’ve had more good things happen than bad things. Holidays can be rough. I know it can’t fix anything, but if you’re having a rough time this holiday season all the dog pictures I have posted are tagged “Wolfie”. He’s a ball of fluff who likes to shove himself between you and the arm of the couch and he loves everyone (except toddlers, who he avoids as much as possible)

#the person behind the yarn #long post #my family is very musically inclined #of the six people there yesterday I think three have been music teachers?#and one of my sister's hasn't taught music (as far as I know) but has been paid to sing and can definitely read music #*sisters #allergy/asthma-wise I'm okay! my brother did get my inhaler #and the potential new allergy was minor #I took an extra antihistamine and the hives were gone when I woke up #I have to figure out what it was I ate that was new though #because I'm on three different kinds of antihistamines at all times and I'm probably pretty allergic to whatever it was #so I guess it's less that the allergy is minor so much as the reaction was #I just know people think of asthma attacks and food allergies as major things and don't want y'all to worry. I'm okay!#I will be re-implementing the announcement at the beginning of every family gathering #where I make sure all adults present know where my inhaler is and that I could use help getting it if I start wheezing #because oh my gosh that was ridiculous #anyway I hope you're having happy holidays! or at least not-terrible ones!
