ok so to sum up what we were discussing wish a good friend today... what if Dazai is actually serious about saying “good bye” to Chuuya, but not in the way that it appears?
Is it even possible for a vampire to drown? Akutagawa kinda died and was resurrected as a vampire later btw. so what if Chuuya is not gonna die even if he drowns and Dazai is aware of it? But, however, is saying his good bye because he himself plans to die alongside Fyodor somehow? Dazai was searching for a “neat” way to die all the time, so what if he plans to die now, and that’s why he said good bye to Chuuya?..
giving up on him because he didn’t reciprocate your feelings
You didn’t turn out to be stubborn enough than he’d originally anticipated, as you were human like anyone else. Jotaro assumed you’d continue to strengthen your ‘unrequited love’ for him as did the other pestering girls that swarmed around him with a lack of shame. Affectionate touches he’d ruthlessly steer away, speaking in that sweet, syrupy voice his ears tend to push aside, and just an overall pleasant attitude that clearly differs from the rest.
You were sincere with you feelings.
He was not.
He treated you like dog shit stuck around the curb. Probably still would preserve that horrible habit if you hadn’t gone and changed your ways, admittingly. Funny, it’s only when your usual loving efforts directed at him suddenly vanishes, does he realize what he’s had.
Now that’s gone.
You’re not fully ignoring him, but you’re not exactly giving him the same treatment anymore - you’d deal with him like an awkward friend, just a small exchange of ‘his’, nothing else. Jotaro’s not great trying to address his feelings. You already assumed that was a possibility, but couldn’t tell if that was the case with you - him neglecting you for months hadn’t persuaded you either. So as much as he wants to say something, he’d default to his regular response, and was forced to shove back everything he was dying to say.
He remembers exactly what he said when you’d profess your dying love for him directly one time. “I told you not to fall in love with me.” He’s warned you countless amount of times from the very beginning. You’ve been reminded obnoxiously on his crass, withdrawn demeanor. Did you shy away from him at that time? No, you stuck by his side like an annoying parasite, detrimental in ways he wouldn’t be able to understand.
So when did you finally decide that you’d had enough? Why now?
And then it clicks. You’re starting to hang out a lot more with Kakyoin, it’s almost too suspicious to not notice. He doesn’t know if that red-headed bastard is doing this to get on his nerves, but what he does know for sure is that it’s fucking working.
He’d bash that smug grin plastered on his face into the curbs repeatedly - to hell you’d replace him with him out of all people.
Jotaro is confrontational. now that is a fact you’d knew already from months of worshiping him from the sidelines, you’ve seen him get into a couple of nasty fights from a distance. Though he’d win with not much than a scratch, you’d always checked to make sure he was okay - his low efforts on shooing you away had never chased you away. If Kakyoin ever brings this up, you’d be more alarmed for his safety than your own ...
What you hadn’t expect is for him to corner you so suddenly in an alleyway just as the last class ends, a gaze so intense - it’s difficult to pinpoint if it was out of pure hatred, or want - you’re not given the time to decipher it when his enormous hand wraps around your neck. Just a light and solid warning that if you even dare scream out for someone, he’d snap your cervical spine in half. Gradually lowering his head down closer to yours, and lowly sneers.
“I am not done with you.”
He refuses to let you go until you promised to stay with him - forever. You don’t want your dear friend Kakyoin to get hurt, right?
