Say what you want, but I honestly feel bad for Lotor as a character. He did everything he could (or thought he could) to not be like Zarkon and Haggar, yet he ended up with the same fate as them, worse even.

As for whether his feelings for Allura were genuine, I think they were. 1) That kiss (and that almost kiss) can’t be faked. 2) He didn’t want to attack her. 3) Axca’s expression confirmed that as well. 4) The way he reacted to hearing Allura say he’s just like his father just shows how deep that cut. This is someone who’s heard his entire life that he’s not worthy, that he’s weak, yet always managed to keep going. He definitely wasn’t able to do that in this situation. It says enough.

I do hope Haggar/Honerva brings him back from the Quintessence field, since she does care for him and since she was able to bring herself back to her normal state (even more so with her newfound abilities from Oriande). 

His arc can’t leave at that.

I wish Lotor could redeem himself in some way. But that won’t happen, because there is no coming back from that colony reveal. (I actually just wish that whole colony plot was written differently.)

I had a thought about the “you found me” + “how many times are you gonna have to save me before this is over? as many times as it takes” quotes for Shiro/Keith: 

Considering S3 and S4 were originally meant as one season, just as S5 and S6 were, there’s always one episode in each season in which Keith finds Shiro, each time with Shiro in dire circumstances.

In S1 Keith finds Shiro after he was taken by the Galra during the Kerberos mission and crashlanded back on Earth / with Shiro being quarantined by the Garrison.

In S2 Keith finds Shiro after they were split up from the rest of Team Voltron and landed on a wasteland planet, far away from each other / with Shiro being weakened by a severe wound and hunted by reptile creatures.

In S3/S4 Keith (the Black Lion, so real Shiro) finds Shiro’s (Kuron’s) pod after they lost Shiro in the fight against Zarkon / with Shiro almost out of oxygen in his space pod.

In S5/S6 Keith finds Shiro (Kuron) after he was being controlled by Haggar and then finds Shiro inside the Black Lion / with Shiro’s clone body barely living and Shiro’s spirit trapped in the Black Lion.

I read all the Voltron S6 “spoilers” and all I’m going to say about is this:

In you analysis of episode 6 in season 3 what did you mean by Keith showed them Galra powers??

If I remember correctly, the creators mentioned before the third season came out that Keith was going to unlock Galra powers. When he switched his blade from his left hand to his right when Ezor was trapping his left arm, the switch had a purple-blackish light, which is Galran colours. (It also reminded me of the moment when Keith first unlocked his Galran blade.) And they really focused on Ezor’s shocked face at this occurrence. So it must be important.

Therefore my guess is that she was surprised at Keith showing his Galra power and will tell Lotor. The creators did say that Lotor has a fondness for Galra half-breeds…

Is it just me or is the Voltron S3 trailer a bit... weird? Like where is Allura and Coran? Where is Haggar? And Shiro? ;__; but no footage of him was to be expected.  Why was there only one shot of Keith and Pidge? 

That said, or rather asked, I LOVED THE HANCE + THE BOM + THE LOTOR!!!!! I want even more of that, thank you.

I’m really excited for Prince Lotor appearing in Voltron’s S3. Especially because he’s the heir to Zarkon, while S2 made it clear that Keith is the “heir” to Shiro as Shiro kept preparing him to possibly take over as leader of Voltron since the first episode. Now with Zarkon so severely injured from the final battle that he’s seemingly in a coma and with Shiro missing (I really hope he’s okay), both Lotor and Keith will be forced to step up for their respectable causes. 

As we’ve watched Zarkon and Shiro battle each other one on one in that astral plane for the Black Lion, it’s highly likely that we’ll see a more personal rivalry between Lotor and Keith as well. (Plus, and correct me if I’m wrong, they did have a rivalry in the previous adaptations iirc.)

I suggest we change the expression “Holy cow!” to “Holy Kaltenecker!”. Yea or nay or moo?
