Age regression community, may I ask a question? How do you overcome the shame?

Further context if you'd like:

I have recently discovered I regress (clinically as an involuntary trauma response-- I believe this is commonly called 'vent regression'), and I am very uncomfortable with this. It makes me feel vulnerable and I struggle with such feelings-- I've even addressed such in therapy (although that time was about simply asking for help, not regression).

I would like to make such episodes, if they occur again, less...terrible, and believe addressing my shame around this response may be helpful. Any insight you may have is welcomed.

We made our PCs for our in-system campaign of FIST today in this Picrew.

Left column: Kinship, Innsmouth, Silver (my PC; his hair color isn't correct here)

Right column: Pierce, Molotov, Hare (she actually is an ultrahuman hybrid with dog ears + black&white fur but those features are not present in this)

Hello, Echo, it is ! -- I will answer these; Wolf is resting. Maybe later they will reblog with their own answers? Unsure.

5. how do they typically dress? does their wardrobe lean more towards practicality or aesthetics?

I'm using my FIST player character Silver here (RETIRED; TRUTH/TURNCOAT). I talked a little bit about him in a different ask game response.

Silver feels the most at home and himself when he's dressed up considerably-- you'd never see him in just a T-shirt and jeans. He does understand that practicality has its purposes, and will dress down, but he tries to keep a air of sophistication.

6. how do they wear their hair? do they care a lot how their hair looks?

Silver has short gray hair, and he keeps himself as well groomed and upkept as possible.

He does care about presentation and looks a decent amount, but often gets so preoccupied with things he begrudgingly has accepted that he can't always maintain his ideal appearance.

29. are they associated with any particular element (air, earth, fire, water)?

I looked at the associations of the elements before I answered these, and I think I would assign him Earth? Based on what I read having spoken about Earth element relating to groundedness, leadership, and loyalty.

🌙 MOON - what is your oc's greatest wish? how far are they willing to go for it?

I am answering these for Silver; I think he would like to simply have a peaceful life, given his history. However, circumstances keep getting in the way, and he finds helping others is often more important than his own desires.

🕷️ SPIDER - what is their biggest fear? do they have any irrational / mundane fears?

I believe he's afraid the world will cease- - as a FIST PC, Silver has a trait called TRUTH which can be interpreted many ways but is ultimately about your character knowing this is a game. Silver worries that the 'players' and 'ref' will tire of the 'game' and that he and everything else will suddenly no longer be.

(He also hates that technically the world as he knows it is not actually... it is not real, none of its history actually happened, the world has only existed for the length of the 'game' no matter what he or society 'remembers'.)

Besides that, he is fairly unflappable.

🌌 MILKY WAY - what was the inspiration behind your oc? what was the first thing you decided about them?

I chose Silver's traits first, and ended up with TRUTH (detailed above) and TURNCOAT (where your PC was part of a enemy faction but turned and stopped being part of it at some point); I also went into the chargen process having decided he was RETIRED-- and had actually been part of old!FIST after he turned but before the events of the game.

🪤 MOUSE TRAP - what will always lure them into certain danger? a loved one in danger? a promise of something they are always searching for?

I think he would be drawn to danger in the events of needing to help innocents or friendly parties. He considers himself a leader and part of that for him is helping others before himself.

🎁 PRESENT - what types of presents would they be most happy to receive? are they good at gift giving?

Practical items, and I think he is good at gift giving, yes.

✏️ PENCIL - is there a particular quote / lyric that you associate with them?

Hmmm, this is hard. I have not thought about this, so I don't have a answer.
