Progress Update

Hey, was anyone going to tell me that Tumblr uses search operators or was I just supposed to find that out on Reddit while trying to track down some personal lost media?

Anyway, while I'm still going to continue my system of using blogs as leads in order to archive things that weren't tagged as 8tracks or that are from deleted posts/blogs, it's a major help to know that I can find LOTS of playlists this way.

(For those who don't know, "operators" is a fancy term for the modifications you can make to a search in order to refine it. So long as you search a tag itself by putting a # before your search, you can browse the actual tag by using before:yyyy-mm-dd and/or after:yyyy-mm-dd. So I can browse everything tagged as 8tracks from when the site was in its prime in chronological order. THIS IS SO BIG TO ME!!!)

Blogkeeping Update

I almost have my tag lists perfected!

Of course, since this blog is incomplete, tag lists will have to be maintained fairly regularly to stay up to date. For that reason, I've added when the tags were last updated to each masterlist.

I have a couple more kinds of tags to put on the main tags page (i.e. lost status), but I do want to get that page cleaned up a little bit because it's looking cluttered. Plus I need to update the playlist tags page since I finished it a while back and have lots to add to it.

I could have these pages looking so good if only Tumblr let me use the details HTML tag. Oh well. I'm making the best of things anyway.

EDIT: I have also just realized that I never outlinked anything in the playlist tag list. And that I'd like to also get that formatted differently. Ah, add it to the pile, I guess.

Blogkeeping updates

So I've been away for a minute.

Didn't have the greatest week last week, so I've been playing catch up with a few things IRL and sort of forgot that I'm trying to keep this blog functional. Ah, happens to the best of us, I'm sure. If any posts get through that are tagged as "untranscribed," rest assured that I DO intend to get around to transcribing them eventually. Normally, I like to get them done while they're in the queue but, how's that saying go? "Life's what happens when you're planning to do something else."

Anyway, my next big goal for this blog is to get my tag lists finished. It's been about three years since I last worked with custom HTML, which I'm trying to do so that I can make it look a little cleaner. But it's also a long process of compiling tags and sorting tags and then outlinking to each individual tag. So it's a LOT of menial work for something that looks pretty simple. I'm chipping away at it, so it'll be functional eventually. I'm hoping to start rolling out some of the pages soon.

I think that about sums up what's been up with me. If you're reading this, I hope you're well!

some people who saw us in @asteraden's bio has been asking them about what we are so i thought i might pin a post that explains

wavefront and eden are two groups of headmates sharing the same brain with a wall of dissociation between us that makes it difficult for us to communicate. we know little about what is going on with eden and vice versa. we have different system structures, rules, and boundaries. thus, we felt it was appropriate to label us as a "separate system" that shares a body with eden.

us two systems are friends and we enjoy interacting with each other. we share a life, after all

Making pretty big strides to have my tag pages functional! The downside is I might have to pause my queue for a couple of days while I organize some things behind the scenes to organize the tag stuff correctly. Idk. We'll see. But if the queue stops any time between now and, like, July, that's why.

Playing around with themes for the desktop version of this blog! I want something that captures that old school Tumblr feel but is also easy to read and navigate.

Had to turn endless scrolling (my behated) on to make it a little easier to navigate my drafts and queue to make sure I'm not queuing up the same 5 fanmixes a million times. Doesn't mean I won't ever accidentally double-post, but it should make it easier to avoid.

Between my drafts (where I keep everything that still needs to be tagged), my queue, and my current posts, I've collected almost 500 mixes with plenty more leads to add even more to the collection. So you can see how memorizing if I've already collected something is a little daunting.

Nonetheless, I'm going to keep on keeping on! ^.^

I've been adding a lot of playlists to the queue and trying to figure out what to tag them based on their themes. I assume this is what it feels like to be the person at the publishing company who writes out the subjects a book is about for the copyright pages
