Seeing as you are clearing out side quests - have you done the Shb Master Role Quest yet? (Unlocked for doing all the Shb role quests) if not I totally recommend doing it! Not super long but excellent content!

ahhh not yet! my highest level tank is at level 62 and my highest level healer is at level 70, and i'm so terrified to do level up raids with them i've procrastinated ever since DLKJDFKLJDF

it's definitely on my list of things to do though! but... alas...

You’ve been slowing over time convincing me to read Doctrine of Labyrinths but only just now am I finding out it’s by the same author as the Goblin Emperor just under a different name?? Which I adore so I guess I HAVE to read them now,,, I’m excited!!!

It is true! Though fair warning that Doctrine of Labyrinths is a very different animal than The Goblin Emperor, not least in terms of tone - DoL is much darker. I don’t know that I would have necessarily pegged them as being by the same author if I hadn’t already known. 

BUT I STILL HOPE YOU READ AND ENJOY, love that goddamn series so much.

Gosh- Well, I’m not sure what time period you’re referring to precisely, so let’s go with first impressions and then where he was at around the sunset scene.

Agni’s first impression was- nothing incredibly special, honestly. He admired Sebastian for protecting his little master so well and so devotedly (and if there was a twinge of guilt there, he disregarded it the best he could) but was possibly a little thrown by his cool formality at first. As time went on and he interacted with Sebastian more, he was impressed not just by the battle skills he demonstrated, but also his efficiency and the variety of skills he possesses, and the single-mindedness with which he handled each task. While Sebastian was, occasionally, a little disconcerting, Agni swiftly grew to admire him and his methods.

By the time the curry arc ends, Agni has a good feel for the Phantomhive household. While they are distinctly unlike him and Soma, he thinks, they are kind in their own way - it would make Agni uncomfortable to embrace darkness the way they do, but they handle it well, without succumbing to it. They use it for good and helpful ends, bettering the world, and he admires that, too. (It is not what he wishes for Soma, still, not ever, but he does not distrust these people, either. It’s just a feeling he has about them...)

This is me with a lot of anime I watch. I cannot tell you how many animes I’ve started and then dropped because the plot got too convoluted and ate up all the screen time or it started focussing on romance or some “plot twist” I’m not interested in instead of the cool monster/magic/angsty main character that I started watching for
