The idea that we are finished has not yet taken root in my mind

for you still lurk here-

it's hard to pick away at someone burrowed in so deeply

But after devoting years of time, doled out in increasingly desperate five minute chunks

I finally realize just how disappointing you really are

You contrived sunshine and decadence to lure me,

one amongst millions who were subject to your delusions

into thoughtlessly obeying your whims

All for the reward of a rare smile that I now know was really a well-magicked frown

with a ferocious bite

And as much as I have lost faith in you,

I have done so trifold in myself

for worshiping at your feet.
