So suddenly had her peaceful
stroll been interrupted; sudden
was never good for Wendy.
Predictabley, the surprise of an
unknown someone popping up
from the grass of ToonTown’s
Merry Park had startled her to
shrieking with a jump backward
and a dramatic fall to her knees.
Out of such fright, white gloves
rushed to cover her face, and the
tears that had already begun to
water up. Until she heard the
familiar voice.. and slowly, she
lowered those hands to peek
over them.
It hadn’t been enough to make
her quite quake with fear, but
her exhale was shaky when she
finally attempted a calming breath.
It were only Bugs Bunny.
Bugs Bunny with his arm already
around her, wiping those panic
tears, trying to settle her nerves
for the scare he’d accidentally
provided her. Even so, it would
take a moment for her to settle
down - it always did. The
sympathetic hare must have
caught on to that, for he’d lifted
her up with him and swiftly brought
her attention to something else..
Within a moment Wendy’d been
spun on the toe of her shiny black
heels and inclined backward in the
arms of him. Her own hands had
absent-mindedly come to rest ahold
of his shoulders in reaction to steady
herself through the dipping motion.
The look of stunned surprise on
her face quickly dissolved into that
of soft laughter following his words.
Wendy could hear the Chordettes’
‘Lollipop’ play on a radio not a far
distance from them, easing her
nerves further.
“You scared me there,” she stated,
hands loosening their grip on his
shoulders to rest more comfortabley.
“I’m so sorry for crying, I was just so
frightened. I don’t think anyone’s
popped up from the grass like that
on any walk I’ve been on before.”
