"welcome to my darkness," caiwei says with a bright smile on her face. her energy was a stark contrast to the sterile mortuary she gestured to. "i've been here a while now."

"i require the solace of the shadows and the dark of the night." this is caiwei's response to being forced to suffer through the midday heatwave. "why can't everything be open at midnight?"

"sometimes, it's hard for me to stay still in one place," caiwei explained her actions to the other. "i'm a pacer and picker." pacing back and forth was one thing, but picking leaves off of any plant at arm's reach was the worst of her contemplation habits. "i-is this plant yours?" she looked at how one side was nearly bare, the remnants of it's glory scattered at her feet, and cringed inside.
