who are musically-inclined among the greil merc?? based on the vibes i get from them
correct me if there are any canon musical facts of these guys, i just finished the game and idk how to start looking for them obscure facts
idk i kinda see gatrie playing the guitar every so often to pass the time :D
he's actually a really great singer!! it's more of a hobby than a potential profession, tho he has dabbled in performing on streets/bars here and there.
if she knows the song, which is mostly the case, mist would happily sing along with gatrie. rolf too, but not as often as mist since he prefers to just listen. if the mood is right, boyd would join them.
titania, rhys, and oscar would sometimes hum along. ike doesn't notice how sometimes he would bob his head along to the music.
shinon would never admit it, but as soon as gatrie starts strumming the guitar, his irritation (and worries) would melt right then and there. he would stop whatever he was doing and just listen, but of course with crossed arms and closed eyes.
soren would also feel the same, but i think he would be less denial about enjoying gatrie's music.
although oscar had sung lullabys to lull his brothers to sleep when they were little, he doesn't feel as confident in his singing. even after joining the merc, sometimes rolf would still ask oscar to sing for him to sleep.
if boyd knew not to focus on bellowing out the lyrics instead of focusing on his voice, he could have been a pretty decent singer. he gets a lil upset when rolf says he prefers oscar's lullabys, but very rarely he sings for rolf to sleep too when oscar isn't around.
ike has an untapped potential of being a really smooth singer much like his mother, but he prefers to listen to someone else singing than to do it himself. mist would nag her brother and would pester him to sing more, but ike wouldn't budge.
rhys would have sang much more if it weren't for his constant sickness and dry throat 🥺 but he memorizes by heart all of the folklore songs his childhood female friends would sing together as they make flower crowns in the fields while he longingly watches the boys from afar fend off each other with sticks in a play sword fight.
do not let mia near a microphone, not like they exist during the medieval times. point is, she shouts/yells more than she can sing, and her shrill voice can break all the glasses in the room if they were in a fancy party.
there would be some nights when the mercenaries sat by the bonfire together. gatrie would whip his guitar out and play to calm everyone down.
if they're feeling festive (or when the adults had a few drinks) they would dance around the fire and sing along
oh yes mist and gatrie would definitely have this country road duet :D
